Welp...Bendy was gone again...
I guess it wasn't anything new. You had wanted to ask about the specifics of the deal...again, but he never responded to you whenever you brought it up. As a matter of fact, he didn't really talk at all after the plastic wrap incident, but you figured that he was still holding a grudge over it.
Sitting on the couch was your only option, and you decided to draw a few more sketches while you sat there.
It really wasn't as bad as you had thought it would be, living down here. Drawing was always a nice way to pass the time and Bendy always provided you with plenty of human necessities, no matter what time of day it seemed to be. Although he seemed to cling onto past events like a magnet, he wasn't nearly as harsh when he spoke to you.
I guess it took him a while to get used to having you around. It wasn't unexpected or anything, as the demon hadn't seen a single human in over thirty years.
Another sketch of Bendy was finished. You set your pen down on the cushion next to you, holding out the sketchbook to observe your finished product. You had to admit, this was probably one of your best works thus far.
A content smile spread across your face and everything around you melted away as you drifted into your own thoughts.
You had completely forgotten about personal problems...Depression being the worst of them all. The studio had distracted you from all of that, and you were finally able to be yourself again. It felt...odd.
Bendy wasn't supposed to be a good thing! None of this was supposed to be 'fun'! He had forced you to stay here, and for some strange reason you couldn't feel the hate anymore.
Wasn't this deal supposed to act as a curse? Why was it beginning to feel better than my old life?
A sudden creak from behind you broke you away from your thoughts. Turning your head, you realized that Bendy had entered the lounge.
Something seemed to have changed in his expression, since you had last seen him anyway. The Ink demon did not possess any kind of negative emotion in his face anymore. It began to make you believe that he finally let go of the plastic wrap incident.
Bendy calmly walked over to the couch, standing beside it and looking down at you. His gaze quietly shifted back and forth between you, and your newest drawing resting next to you.
You cocked your head, slightly unnerved by the silence. "Something wrong Bendy?"
The demon immediately locked his gaze on you, surprised that you would ever ask about his well being. Crossing his arms across his chest, he lightly cleared his throat.
"...I've been thinking about our little...agreement...(y/n)."
This took you by surprise. Why on earth would he be pondering over something that he specifically said wouldn't change?
You didn't say anything, raising a brow as you waited for him to continue.
"Most of the animators that have encountered me in the past had managed to irritate the shit out of me. You were...tolerable...and for that reason alone, I suppose that I can extend your exploration limits a bit further."
Your eyes grew wide with excitement. HALLELUJAH!!!
You were beyond excited, and couldn't wait to go explore! The sudden rush of joy flooded inside of you, and without thinking you jumped off of the couch and hugged the demon as tight as you possibly could. "Thank you so much Bendy!"
The Ink demon tensed in your embrace, his body completely frozen with shock.
You were hugging the one who had imprisoned you here...
She was thanking him with a kind and friendly gesture, when all he gave her in return was shocked silence.
He couldn't think of any reason why anyone would want to hug him of all people...or, demon.
After a few moments, you realized what you had just done and quickly let him go. Your cheeks flushed in embarrassment and your gaze shifted to the floor. "S-Sorry about that!" You apologized, getting a quiet growl from Bendy in response.
"Err...I-It's alright...just...don't do that again..." He replied, quickly changing the subject.
"There is one additional rule that you will need to follow, if you want to roam outside the lounge." Bendy paused, gesturing for you to follow him as he lead you out of the lounge. After just a few minutes of silent walking, the two of you approached a sign on the wall. The sign had an arrow pointing towards an alternate hallway.
Stopping in front of the sign, the demon raised a claw and pointed at the arrow, which had been labeled, 'Lift'.
"Do not go to the lift." He stated, his voice cold and stern. "I am the only one in this hellhole willing to keep you alive. If anything else finds you...your dead."
Your eyes widened, the rush of excitement slowly dying down at the thought of threats. "And your sure that there is nothing around here?"
The Ink demon looked at you and frowned. "No. There are others lurking around these areas too, but I also have a very abundant supply of cutouts up here." He answered, leaving you puzzled. "How do the cutouts have anything to do with it?"
"I can look through the eyes of the cutouts to keep an eye on you. If anything finds you up here, I can make sure they are dealt with."
Wait, was that how Bendy found out that you were even in the studio to begin with?
"Ah, That makes much more sense now."
Bendy began to head back to the lounge, but stopped to look back at you. "Now that you are aware of what you should and shouldn't be doing, I will allow you to explore for now. When you finish, I recommend that you return to the lounge. Unless you wanna end up dead."
You nodded, "Alright Bendy, I will."
In the blink of an eye, he was gone, and you were left with a wide range of the studio to explore. Honestly, it was about time too!
As you walked in the opposite direction of the lift, your mind wandered back to the small moment you had with Bendy back in the lounge.
You were surprised that he hadn't shoved you away from him. Though he may have been too surprised to even react to your gesture. A pink blush spread across your face and you desperately tried to stop thinking about it.
Bendy wouldn't leave your thoughts. He had changed a lot since you had made the deal. He was much nicer to you, and certainly never tried to hurt you anymore.
As much as you didn't seem to believe it, that demon may have been more of a blessing than a curse.
