"Stop laughing at me!"
"I can't help it! It was funny!"
Bendy hadn't gotten over the situation with your hair for a lot longer than you had imagined. You had managed to flatten the strands into a more tame position some time ago, but the demon couldn't seem to get the image to leave his mind.
"We've been walking for almost ten minutes now, and you're still thinking about it? I think I'm beginning to see a common theme in your behavior." You snapped, going through every length you could to avoid his amused gaze.
"Calm down (y/n), that maze turned you into a grouch."
Bendy had led you out of the maze with no problems; there weren't any more projector-headed monstrosities for the demon to fight off. Every once in a while a searcher would appear, but it stopped dead in it's tracks when it saw the ink demon standing beside you.
It felt good to have him there...He was like a bodyguard of sorts.
The corridors you walked were just as you remembered on level K. The same old, boring halls that only grew more and more worn down the deeper into the studio you traveled. Bendy walked a little ways ahead of you, making sure there weren't any threats before turning to make sure that you were following along in one piece. It was hard to keep up with him at times. Being much smaller than him gave you short strides, whereas he could probably walk a mile in one step.
Suddenly you turned the corner at the end of the hall and found Bendy stopped a few feet in front of you. In front of him was a giant metal door. It looked like it was a door normally installed inside a submarine, and the handle was missing on it.
"Shit...The fucking handle is gone."
Bendy cursed with a growl, turning around and hurriedly pacing down the hallway opposite the door. It wasn't the way you came, and you honestly hadn't even realized that there was another hallway. You didn't want to risk getting in his way and irritating him more than he already was, so you patiently waited for him to return.
"Found it!"
You heard him shout from down the hall. His sudden remark was quickly followed by heavy thumping, and the clanking of what sounded like soup cans that may have fallen from a shelf or something.
*CRASH!*
"Ah shit!"
You quietly laughed to yourself beside the door. Whatever was going on in there was entertaining to listen to. The ink demon stumbled back over to you with the handle in his claws after a minute or two. "I got it." He breathed out.
"Did you have fun in there?" You asked teasingly, smirking at him as he went over to the door with a huff.
"...Stop it." He replied, "I don't wanna hear it."
You lightly chuckled at his response and watched him as he attached the handle to the door and turned it. It took a noticeable amount of force for him to turn the rusty metal and push the door open, but he got there eventually.
The door pushed aside, and the two of you walked into a large, open room, with an elevated platform in the middle. Above the platform was a large banner that read, 'HE WILL SET US FREE', and a stone statue of the cartoonish version of Bendy accompanied the banner on the dusty base of the platform.
"Just ignore the sign. I don't even know who wrote it." Bendy told you, walking around the structure and disappearing into a room behind it.
You stood in front of the sign for a moment longer, thinking about what it possibly could have meant. Who wrote the sign? What exactly does it mean?
