"Would you hold still Bendy?"
"I already told you (Y/n), It'll heal on its own."
You glared up at him, instantly silencing his protesting as he grumpily sat down on the counter of one of the empty game booths, allowing you to wrap the wound on his back. He complied with an audible grumble, but said nothing more.
The giant, metal carnival ride was not an issue anymore. All four of the arms had been dismantled, and coincidentally, your axe had snapped in two just after the last bolt had been chopped off.
"I don't want it getting any worse while it heals, and even though you're made of ink, I will still tend to you nonetheless. It's what anyone would do for someone they love." You told him, securing the end of the medical tape you had found in one of the crates after defeating the attraction around his waist.
The demon gave you a small smile at that, watching as you adjusted the bandage before stepping back and letting him get up and move past you.
"Alright, let's get this last switch taken care of." Bendy grumbled, rolling his shoulders. "I feel like we've been in this warehouse for years."
You grinned at that, and the two of you approached the metal panel and pulled down the lever to open the last door you needed to go into. You followed the sound of the metal, screeching as it scraped across the floor. The ink demon followed, and this one had a very obvious theme to it that was shoved into your face as soon as you peered through the doors.
Trains.
Poster after poster was plastered onto the walls, each of the same picture of Bendy riding inside of a train. He had a little engineer hat on, and you couldn't help but find it adorable as you walked over to them.
"Aww, look at the little Bendy!"
The demon stopped where he was, turning to you instantly with a look of surprise. He was unsure how you had the confidence to say such things with him right there without getting flustered over it, but let that thought slip away for now. I guess the posters were distracting enough to take your mind off of that part.
You seemed to be in your own little world as you grazed a hand over the posters. Everything around you had ceased to exist.
A smug grin spread across his face, and he beamed from behind you.
"(Y/n), I know I'm pretty adorable, but I think you're forgetting what we're here for." He told you, casually walking up to you and pulling your focus back into reality with a tap to your shoulder. With as little as a glance, you huffed and pulled your hand away from the decorative pictures.
"Oh, alright. I suppose I can't admire you forever." You said admittedly, "Or at least, what used to be you."
Bendy growled at the comment, suddenly feeling much less satisfied with the admiration his image had just received. "That is me, regardless of what happened. The same old demon you see today, except now it looks like I'm trying to compensate for something."
"Bendy what the fuck..." You said blankly, trying to ignore the nonsense he suddenly brought out of thin air. Letting out a small laugh, you pressed him with a question in more of a joking manner.
"Well? Are you?"
The ink demon smirked and raised his arms behind his head as the two of you proceeded into the next room, the posters being ignored as they had been for over thirty years.
"Wouldn't you like to know~" He snickered, stretching out his rib cage before letting his arms back down at his sides with a sigh.
"I actually would." You responded, stopping in front of a set of stairs, which led down into another flooded area. It was much like level 14, except the room looked smaller from where the two of you stopped.
And the fact that Norman had paced across the doorway and struck fear and alarm into your body in an instant.
Silence enveloped the both of you for a time, and your mind was unable to comprehend how this creature was even here. How was it alive? You saw Bendy kill it with your own eyes; the mangled head torn right off of It's dark flesh like a piece of paper being ripped in two.
"What?!" You croaked, your eyes wide. "Didn't you kill that thing?!"
The toon frowned again from beside you, slumping his shoulders slightly. "Well..." He started, "It's complicated."
You gave him a nervous frown. "Believe me Bendy, I'm more than willing to listen if it means it'll explain this bullshit." You snipped, gesturing down to the doorway where that abomination had passed by.
A loud sloshing of the ink made you slightly flinch where you stood. The footsteps were just as you remembered them from before. It had been scary enough last time when you were bolting into the miracle station with no idea of how close the creature had been to grabbing you. There was in fact a miracle station behind the two of you, and the ink demon seemed to notice how you looked back at it for a split second.
"I'll explain it to you later, but for the moment I would feel better if you made use of that station." The toon replied, stepping towards the stairway and peering down to the bottom. You weren't gonna lie, hiding sounded like the safer choice, yet you were tired of feeling useless in any violent situation. The fight with that ridiculous attraction had been quite thrilling, and Bendy had actually gotten hurt in that rather than yourself.
You could do this...
Bendy turned to look down at you as you stepped forward and gave him a small smile. "I'm sorry Bendy...but I'm tired of hiding." You admitted, your head held low. "I think it's about time I overcame this studio at your side, rather than behind a barrier."
The toon gave you an uneasy look, but you stood firm and gripped his hand reassuringly.
"I dismantled the attraction and came out unscathed, didn't I?"
Bendy couldn't help but grin at the outcome of that whole conundrum, and being reminded of the bandages wrapped around him made him laugh for a moment. "Yeah...I guess you did." He answered. "I was just distracted. I would have been able to handle that thing just fine."
"Hah...Sure..." You spoke sarcastically, poking him playfully in the shoulder. "The reason you were so distracted was because of your own cocky comments."
The projectionist was oblivious to all that went on just up the stairs, and the demon quietly crept down into the flooded area with you close at his side. You had managed to come up with some sort of plan, and Bendy was serving as a diversion of course. He had known of a switch that needed pulled on the upper floor in this very room, and he was going to distract Norman and give you access to the stairs leading to that upper area.
All you had to do was wait, and if Norman ended up figuring out what was happening, you were willing to face it head on and fight this time.
With one final glance at one another, you gave the ink demon a small nod, and he walked past you to carry out his part.
Hopefully this would go smoothly...Hopefully...
