Ending 2/3.

There was a heavy fog of tension in the air. It consumed all that floated in the ghostly graveyard that served as a funeral home for your lifeless form, and if you hadn't been anything more than a spirit, then it would have taken you along with it, but you were stuck right where you were. A choice had to be made, and as you turned to look at Henry again, standing mere inches from you, it was clear that you had come to a decision.

"I'm going to stay." You told him, watching as his expression quickly grew worried, although he didn't protest.

"Very well. If that is really what you want, then I will respect that."

You lowered your head, sending Henry a sad smile. "Thank you, Henry."

The man could clearly see that you weren't in much of a talking mood, and he turned to leave with a gradual vanishing of his very form into thin air. Soon enough, you turned to Bendy alone, and the sight made your heart ache.

You were not happy that you would never be reunited with him, but this wasn't about you anymore...not the way you saw it. It was better this way. You didn't want Bendy to have to live with your death over and over, so you would instead watch over him as he overcame your loss.

"Bendy." You approached him, standing in front of him and watching sadly as he held your lifeless body and cried. You knew that words and actions would do nothing to him now that you were gone, but this was better than having to relive everything and repeatedly lie in wait for him to find you motionless on the ground.

"Please don't cry."

You would wait every passing day. Every moment that it took if it meant that the ink demon would eventually recover from this, and manage to find happiness somewhere else in this dark place.

You knew that it was never impossible. Over time, he would grow to think of you fondly, and remember the moments where you had been at your best. He would look upon them with pride and joy, thinking of the good old days, just as he did before you had arrived. Hopefully those thoughts were something worth reminiscing, as you would do the same in spirit.

And you had not been wrong. It was slow, but as the days passed, you found Bendy looking up at the ceiling of various rooms as he traveled through the studio he had once learned to memorize. It was almost as though he were looking up to the heavens, wondering about you and how happy you might have been up where you truly belonged.

You were an angel to him after all, and he believed that wholeheartedly.

You would find him raising his claws up in the air, like he was offering his hand to a ghostly presence he didn't know was actually there. You would lightly smile when he did this, and because you were a spirit, you could actually suspend yourself in the air above him and place your hand in his claws, pretending for a moment that he could see you again.

"I hope that you're happy up there, (Y/n)...Wherever you may be..." He would say, lowering his hand to his chest and being constantly reminded of what you had done in life, and the memories he had made. Despite the pleasant thoughts of you, he didn't smile.

It was sweet in a way, watching him act as though you were listening to him when he spoke. Sometimes he would actually talk aloud about things that occured as he recovered from your death, and you would always be looking at him over his shoulder and listening with an adoring smile.

If he were to say one thing, it was often that you would respond to him, but it was never heard.

The time spent with him had given you opportunities to learn what being a ghost was all about, and you were finding it to be interesting in it's own way. For starters, you could literally float everywhere, although whenever you lifted off the ground your legs would disappear, and replacing it was just a gradient wisp of your body melded into a thin tail-like shape. You felt like a tadpole when it happened, but you were still trying to get used to it regardless.

A fate like this was thought to be miserable for the both of you, and Henry had told you that Bendy would plummet into a downward spiral, but he never fell any further then he was before you came to the studio.

Your friends had eventually heard about what had happened, and they grieved as well. Sammy was the only one that Bendy still saw on a regular basis after the fog lifted, as everyone else lived much farther down below the upper levels. Your father was back to being quiet and sad most of the time, but Dale was there to try and comfort him in the lost village. Every once in a while, you would leave Bendy's side and go to visit him, and you could always tell that his spirits had lifted a little when you were around. Maybe the reason he could feel something was because he was dead too, and reincarnated as a searcher, but you were still invisible to him.

Norman was nowhere to be found except level 14 most of the time, wandering his territory with a slight hesitancy to his steps nowadays. He didn't seem too keen on your passing. As for Connor and Williams, they had been forced to leave because of their family and relatives outside of the studio. Bendy had lead them to the exit after what happened, seeing as they didn't need to stay any longer. If they were gone too long, people would think that they went missing, but they still came around sometimes to see how everyone was doing.

Your case had been forcibly closed when the cops returned to the surface with the news. Of course, they didn't tell anyone what really happened with Bendy and the others. They just reported that nothing was found. It would hurt your mother terribly, and it pained you to imagine watching her go through every length possible to continue looking for you, when you would never return.

You weren't sure where Allison and Tom went after they came to terms with your death, but you knew that they didn't have a reason to hide in the safehouse anymore. Alice was gone, and Bendy did not intend to harm them anymore. Like everyone else, they wouldn't forget about you; you had rid them of a lot of danger.

Sammy eventually returned to his usual business in the music department, and you were pleased to see that Bendy would actually visit him every once in a while.

"(Y/n) would want me to make sure you're doing alright. That's the only reason I'm here."

He would respond to the prophet's remarks all the same, using you as an excuse to be nicer and actually keep an eye on the musician's whereabouts. Sammy didn't mind it though.

Bendy spent his own time in the lounge, and you joined him almost always.

There were both the good times, and the bad. Sometimes the ink demon couldn't contain his emotions, and he would break down when he saw your old drawings on the table, and that stupid plushie on the shelf. You were always there when he was at his worst, wishing that you could somehow make him understand that you were with him.

Everyone else down here was learning to grow stronger, and overcome the loss. You would make sure that Bendy was not left behind with that process, and that was what you had vowed to continue to do for the rest of time.

Always and forever, because Bendy would have stuck it out in the same way if it were for you.

And so you were carried along on his internal journey to recovery, on the shoulder of the studio's ruler and your loving companion. Maybe one day, someone else will give this lonely demon a chance just as you had, and if that happened, you would root for him every step of the way.

"Don't worry, my love..."

Bendy would get past this. You knew he would. You had hope, and a vision of the future that no other soul would think to imagine for someone they could no longer be with. It was hard to let people go, but if you had to give him up to another in exchange for a chance to see him love again, it would be worth it.

You smiled and leaned into him, gently touching one of his horns.

It would be worth watching him care for someone else, if they would learn to care about him too...

"Someday, you will find another light like mine."
