This is probably the quickest I have ever published two chapters, but I'm actually feeling motivated this week so I'm taking the advantage.

The room was dead silent. You could only hear the dripping of ink as the substance flowed from these creatures that stood before you.

Wow...this is more awkward than scary...

You were completely unable to recall a time where you had been in a situation this awkward back home. It was completely new, and the more you stood frozen in place, the worse off the moment became. You lightly cleared your throat, your brain scrambling for something to say.

"Umm...Hello there..." You let an uneasy smile spread across your face, uncertain as to how they felt about your presence. What if they didn't like you? What if they couldn't even understand English?  The human mind can be pretty discouraging at times. None of the creatures responded...well, they didn't respond verbally. You noticed that one of the ink abominations had moved closer to you, holding a notebook in their stained hands.

The creature turned the notebook over, so that it was facing you. On the notebook, written in ink, were two words...

'Hello human.'

You blinked for a moment. So they can understand English! There was a brief pause between the two of you before you spoke up again. "I...I got lost in here a couple weeks back, and someone I'd met told me that one of you could explain things to me."

The humanoid creature began to write in the notebook, but it was using its own finger instead of a pen. You found it kind of interesting to watch. It almost reminded you of finger painting. You hadn't done much painting throughout your life, your time was dedicated to animating. That job in this studio had been the light at the end of the tunnel.

Just thinking about it ruined your mood.

Once again, the ink monster turned the notebook towards you, allowing you to read what it had just finished writing.

'Lots of people got lost down here. I can't say any of them made it out.'

That certainly wasn't the most pleasant thing to be reading. How was this creature so sure of themself?  Surely someone had to have had some luck, that would mean there was some sort of chance left for you. You had to admit, this place had really kept your problems at bay, but there was still someone back home that you cared about. Your mother was one of the only people you would openly talk to about your troubles. She must be worried sick about where you had gone.

You frowned at the thought. It was a mistake to leave the house that evening.

A gentle tap on your shoulder brought you back to the present. The inky being in front of you had been trying to get your attention. You brought your attention towards the entity holding the notebook, who was now gesturing for you to continue with possible questions. The tablet was facing you yet again, and the blotchy words written on the page were just as it had been gesturing.

'I can see that you have questions. Please, Ask away.'

The two of you had exchanged words for quite a while in that room, and you had managed to find out that the creature was actually male. It wasn't the most helpful thing in the world, but you were simply trying to get to know him anyways.

"Do you have a name?" You asked curiously.

He wrote in the notebook for a short moment, flipping it over with his response. 'It's been so long...I don't even remember if I have one.'

There were so many questions that you had in mind, and the ink-covered thing that you had decided to call 'Dale', was trying to answer them to the best of his ability. "What are you?" You suddenly asked, watching his hollow, glowing eyes narrow as he thought of a way to word his answer.

'I don't exactly know, to tell you the truth. None of us really know much about ourselves.'

You thought about how unfortunate this soul had become. How could anyone be stuck in one place for so long, that they completely forget everything about themselves!?  The thought was horrible, and your pity for Dale only grew.

Before you could ask anything else, Dale started to write something down in the book, silencing your mind as you curiously wondered what he was about to say.

He finished and turned the book to you. Your face went pale after reading what he had wrote.

'Who did you meet weeks ago that told you about us?'

Dale immediately noticed the change in your demeanor after reading the paper. His eyes narrowed suspiciously, but he patiently waited for you to respond. You had no clue how to answer him. Would he despise you if you told him the truth?

"I...Umm..."

Bendy had mentioned something about these creatures freaking out at even the sight of him. Talking about him would probably scare them just the same. This was really bad...

Dale was beginning to suspect that you had gained the information from a bad source. He watched your face carefully, studying the expressions that you made as you internally panicked. He flipped over to a clean page in the tablet, writing down his thoughts.

Snapping his fingers to gain your attention for the final time, he showed you what he wrote. You nearly fell over as the dread hit you like a brick wall.

'Are you putting your trust in the words of the demon?'

I guess he already knew. It only became more obvious as you nervously avoided eye contact.

With a heavy sigh, you finally let the truth slip out. "Yes...The Ink Demon was the one who brought me here." You spoke quietly, looking around you to find that the other creatures were not disturbed by the mention of the Ink Demon. I guess it really was only if they saw him.

"He simply told me that one of you would be able to answer some of my questions. He never brought me here with the intention of harming me."

Dale nodded, acknowledging your words. He didn't trust the demon one bit, and was quite surprised that you were still alive. That fact only opened up the door to another question, however. Why was he keeping this girl alive in particular?

Before the sudden silence became any more overwhelming, you decided to ask him if you could actually call him Dale. You had decided to call him by that name in your own mind, but hadn't actually asked him aloud until now. He happily agreed, and you could feel yourself begin to smile.

It had been quite a while since you had interacted with someone other than Bendy.

Speaking of Bendy...

Both you and Dale could hear the thumping of a much bigger creature approach the door from the other side, and without a doubt it was Bendy. You honestly had very little clue how he had gotten such good timing with his arrival.

"It was very nice meeting you Dale." You beamed, giving the inkling a small smile before turning to leave. He lightly grabbed your arm, stopping you in your tracks, and holding up his notebook again.

'Be careful. The demon isn't one to be trusted.'

Your expression was now a mix between concerned and scared. Bendy wasn't tricking you was he?  What if Dale is telling the truth?  Dale released your arm, allowing you to retreat back to the door you had come in through. Taking one last glance at the very perturbed being, you turned the doorknob and, once again, opened the door just enough for you to get through.

You honestly weren't even sure what to think of Dale's concerns.
