Adam's P.O.V
After signing the new contract I quickly left so the duke would have time to explain everything to his hot-headed daughter.
It is about eight o'clock and I am waiting in a tavern for my guest, Collin Lon.

Collin Lon's P.O.V
I met her when we were both four years old at a tea party. Anna Cobb. She was like an angel, no, she was an angel. She was my angel. No one had ever smiled at me like that. My family only saw me as a tool to inherit the family name. It wasn't until I was ten years old that I realized I had to make her mine.
The years went by and she never noticed me. NEVER. She fell in love with a girl.
How can I let go? How could I let go? The answer is simple, I won't.
I had hoped the king would not approve of their relationship, but fate was against me.
In a fury, I stormed out of the banquet and hired to assassins to scar lady Florence.
Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. Lady Florence was found unconscious with her guards and her lady-in-waiting. The assassins were missing and I have NO CLUE WHERE THEY WENT! HOW HARD IS IT TO SCAR A WEAK LADY?!?!
The next day I went to ask for Anna's hand in marriage. The Duke however, seemed to be on edge around me, like he didn't trust me.
"Duke Winter has arrived."
Ah yes, Duke Winter. He was talking to Duke Cobb last night and is a possible rival.
As I was leaving Duke Winter shoved something into my coat. I give him a look before leaving.
To be honest, I wasn't planning on reading the thing but my curioustiy got the best of me.
After I finished reading my hands started to shake and I dropped the letter. How did he know?
Dear Sir Lon,
I don't like to waste time so I'll get to the point, I know you hired those assassins to scar lady Florence. Please meet me at the Moonlight Tavern at eight o'clock tonight. See you there.
Sincerely,
Duke Winter
P.s Don't forget to burn this after you memorize the address.
Duke Winter must have been the one who took the assassins! I could report this as blackmail, but he'll just say that he wanted to 'talk'.
So I had no choice but to do what he asks. That's how I end up sitting in front of him three hours later.
"What do you want?"
I growl. (A/N: Are you a dog? Adam: Yes he is.)
The Duke sets down his cup and looks me in his eyes.
"Simple, I want to make a deal. I happen to know of your obbsesion with lady Cobb. I also happen to be marrying next week."
Before I could strangle him, he continues.
"So here is my offer, become my ally and never betray me, and I will have lady Cobb married to you by December. Or, I turn in evidence, you go to jail, and you'll never be with lady Cobb. What is your choice?"
I think it over carefully, Duke Winter makes a lot of good points. Having an alliance with him would be very beneficial.
I nod my head.
"Here is the contract."
He hands me a paper, I read over it before signing. I feel like I just made a deal with the devil.
Author's Note: A deal with the devil indeed. Turns out Collin was the one behind Julie's ultimate demise. Who would have guessed?! Adam: You're the author who wrote it! Me: No comment. Also, this was my first time switching P.O.V's in the same chapter, what do you think? See you in the next chapter!
