Edward's P.O.V

It's been two weeks since the incident and I haven't seen the female lead's shadow since.

Recording however, has been a bit rocky. The scenes were overall fine, but Carter has been looking very tired during recording. He also started running late. Maddie's doing no doubt.

"Dude, are you okay?"

I ask Carter, genuinely concerned. He doesn't answer.

"Are you hanging with the ladies all night?"

I say, hoping to get a reaction. It worked, Carter whirled his head at me but sighed once he realised I was joking.

"....Just....tired...."

Next thing I knew I was reaching to catch Carter, who fainted.

I knew not to sound an alarm, but a crew member saw Carter in my arms and started shouting.

"Mr. Johnson fainted! Mr. Johnson fainted! We need a medic stat!"

Soon the whole set was turned upside down and headline made to gossip websites.

[FAMOUS ACTOR CARTER JOHNSON FAINTED ON SET!]

"It's going to be a madhouse out there."

The director sighed.

"Maybe we can pin him fainting on overworking and tell the fans not to rush so Mr. Johnson can have a break."

The assistant director suggested.

"That might work... Alright everybody! We are gonna take a week off. Then we're gonna be back here next week, okay?"

"Yes sir!"

We reply like robots.

Everyone goes to pack their stuff. While I'm leaving in stopped by Carter.

"Shouldn't you be resting?"

I ask.

"I should be, but I have something to say."

I brace myself.

"Thank you for defending miss Lilly."

My eyes widen in surprise.

"If it weren't for you, I don't know... I saw what happened, but I still wanted to take that women's side. I just.... Don't know what I would have done. So thank you for helping even though I blow you off. You do know why I blow you off though, right?"

I give Carter a smile. Not a happy smile, but a sad one.

"I know why, we are in the entertainment industry after all. But once you retire, make sure you visit me."

I start to slowly walk away before looking back.

"Was that woman really your wife?"

I ask, even though I know the answer.

"Unfortunately, yes."

(A/N: Unfortunate indeed!!!)

Carter says with gloomy eyes. I chuckle.

"Good luck with that."

I say before walking into a sunset.

Author's Note: Walking into the sunset is a pretty good ending, I'm half tempted to end the ARC here. Edward: You better not! Me: You don't have a say! See you in the next chapter!.....or not....
