ARC 2.8

Adam's P.O.V

"Are you disappointed?"

I ask.

"No.. It's just..."

She trails off.

"Why would you help me? It could have been a random thing to help me with the assassins, but why marry me?"

She finally asks.

"You really don't remember."

I choke out while stepping away from her. My chest feels like it's squeezing my lungs.

("S-Saturn, what's happening?")

["It's the original body's emotions."]

("Ugh... Why are they affecting me?")

["The more worlds you complete the harder it is to suppress the body's emotion."]

I start to walk away from Julie.

"W-wait! What don't I remember?"

I look at her once before I continue walking.

"Please! If I can't remember then help me relive it!"

I look at her again.

You could remember....but you don't want to.

My iner voice whispers. Body emotions are troublesome.

"Will you try?"

My voice comes out in a rasp. Julie comes up and hugs me from behind.

"I'd do anything to repay my debt to my hero."

[30% Seduced]

I smile.

"Meet me here at the same time every other night."

I was about to turn away, but then I thought about something.

"It's getting colder, you should wear a coat."

I say as I put my own coat on her. Then I turn away for real this time and walk away.

I feel Julie's eyes on me for quite some time, but I feel that not looking back would be the most romantic thing to do.

I am now currently about to walk into the place to see the king with Robin.

Walking into the place feels like walking into a snake's den. With the scheming and all.

After a servant guides us through the place we are now in front of the king in his throne room.

Robin and I bow simultaneously. (A/N: Wow! That's a long word!)

"Rise."

The king's voice commanded.

"Your majesty, if I may, why did you summon me here?"

I ask as I straighten up.

"Well, as you know my family has repaid our debt to your family so now I have a request for you, Duke Winter."

We look each other in the eye.

"I want you to swear to loyalty to me and never do anything that could harm me."

He feels threatened by me.

I smirk internally.

"I'm sorry your majesty, but I can not comply with your request."

The king's eyes hardened, and Robin was giving me a look of 'Are you crazy?!'.

"I am willing to compromise though,"

I say conversationly.

"What do you mean, Duke Winter."

The king said through clenched teeth.

"If I swore that oath, that would have given you the power to attack my territory with me not being able to defend myself. So I propose we both take an alliance oath that say neither one of us are allowed to attack each other without proper reason."

Once I finish my speech the king's frown spread into a grin.

"I knew you were smart, but you truly are extraordinary."

"Which means?"

I prompted.

"I will sign your deal."

The king said with a smile.
