ARC 4.3

Edward's P.O.V

"Min-"

"Wait, wait, wait!"

The director interrupts me.

"Hand me the script. I want to see if you can do the scene."

I freeze.

What am I going to without the script?!

I mask my discomfort with a smile.

"Sure thing."

I hand my script to the director. I look at Amelia.

"Did you already memorize the script?"

I ask teasingly.

"Yes."

Amelia says indifferently.

("This better not be another iceberg!")

["Or what?"]

Before I could strangle Saturn, the director told me to start the scene.

I approach Ming Ming. She always says that her nickname is childish, I think otherwise.

"Ming Ming!"

I shout joyfully. I approach Ming with shining eyes.

"Octavious."

Ming replies. I'm confused why is she treating me coldly? Then I notice something, her belly is slightly swollen.

"What happened?!"

I yell enraged. Ming winces.

"I'm five months in."

Ming whispers quietly. My blood turns cold. I was on a business trip for six months, I just got back....

Ming had betrayed me. I confessed to her right before I left! She even accepted me! I grab her shoulders in a steely grip.

"Whose. Is. It."

I demand. Who has she been around?

"Jerome's."

My heart stops. Jerome, my best friend, slept with my girlfriend.

"Why didn't you abort?!"

I demand.

"I'm not gonna abort my fiance's child!"

Ming yells in a rare fit of anger.

"Fiance?"

I coldly whisper.

"We were drunk! We needed to take responsibility for each other!"

Ming explains.

"So you get a fiance, right after accepting me?"

Ming swallows.

"Yes."

Crack!

"I'll leave you to that then."

I release Ming and walk away. I feel like all my fight was drained out of me.

Once far enough away, I sink to my knees and start to sob.

"You said you'd always be there for me, you said we were meant to be, you said you loved me, WAS IT ALL A LIE?!? ARE YOU HAPPY NOW!? NOW THAT YOU'VE CRUSHED ME?! WAS IT FUN TO PLAY WITH MY FEELINGS!?! I HOPE YOU DIE!!! I HOPE IT COMES WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT!! MING LEE, YOU ARE DEAD TO ME!!!!!!!"

I start to wail my anguish.

Why must love be so....cruel.

After finishing the scene I wipe the tears from my eyes. I see everyone else in the room doing the same.

"That was a wonderful preformance, it looked absolutely flawless!"

The director applauded me.

As if! That was difficult as heck! I had to add-lib most of the time!

"I think I'm going to change this scene to the way you preformed it!"

The director looked like a kid in a candy shop. (A/N: Saturn: I second that!)

"Does that mean I'm in?"

I ask mischievously.

"OF COR-ahem! Please wait for an e-mail."

The director coughs to cover his embarrassment.

I leave the audition with a smile.

Two days later, I receive a e-mail saying I was selected for the cast.

Hmmm.. Looks like I'm going to be entering the lion's den soon.
