I don't hear her come, but when I turn from slaying a monster she's just there. Floating, shining silver. The grey-eyed one.

"You came for me," It isn't a question.

"We need you to run through the monster causing all this," she says, unapologetically.

"I'm guessing I'm not going to live through that?" I ask.

She shrugs. So that's a no.

"Come," she says, holding out a hand.

In a moment we are in the clouds. The demon is wrestling with the others, as vines threaten to bind him, as water drowns him, as he's set afire. He's just laughing.

One of the heroes reaches through the flames, catching him by the head, holding him still. Flames burn around them. But the Blessing of the Styx prevails.

In one fluid motion my sword goes through his back. He screams in rage. But the blade stays true.

And then I'm afire. And full of lightening. In my last moments, my hand clutches the bag about neck. Then I hear Death's voice.

"I knew you'd come home."

And I am gone.
