Chapter 60: train rides

"Someone else may have to pay the price." He finishes, a horrifying smirk plastered on his face

"What do you.." Draco starts but slowly trails off, following his gaze towards me.

"No." Draco says, taking a step forward, in front of me.

"You're not going to lay a hand on her." He says, his voice strong but Lucius just laughs.

"I'm not." He agrees and Draco looks at him confused but keeps his composure.

"If anyone and I mean anyone even thinks about touching her I swear to God." Draco says, his dad takes a defying step towards us but Draco holds his ground.

"Be careful how you're talking to me, boy." He says, looking Draco straight in the eye.

"Be careful how you talk about Angel. I won't allow you to just walk all over her or me anymore." Draco says and Lucius scoffs taking yet another step closer, now being less than an inch from Draco.

"I'd be careful of your next words, son." Lucius warns and Draco's fist squeeze tight by his side.

"I'm done watching my words around you, Lucius." Draco says and Lucius smirk drops from his face.

"What did you just call me?" Lucius says and I try to grab Dracos arm and gently pull him back but he doesn't budge.  He keeps his frame squared to his dad's.

"Lucius, that's your name isn't it?" Draco says and it only takes a split second for Lucius hand to be raised and aimed at Draco's face.

"Immobulus!" I yell as I point my wand at Lucius. His hand freezes a inch before it would of hit Draco's face. Draco's frozen, his eyes shut and his hand trembling. I quickly grab Draco's hand and his eyes open to look at me. Once he realized that I froze his dad he puts down his guard and begins to breath heavily. I guide him out of the room and into the kitchen, away from everybody else.

"Draco, look at me." I say as I notice him starting to have a really bad panic attack. His eyes look everywhere but my face so I take his hand and place it on my face.

"I'm here, hey. I'm here." I say softly and his eyes look at mine, occasionally looking from my eyes to his hand that's on my cheek.

"Breath love, I've got you." I say, whispering sweet nothings as a I try to continue to get him to calm down.

We stay like that for a little until he rests his forehead on mine, his breathing slowing down. I rub my thumb over his hand calmingly. 

"Thank you," Draco whispers, removing his forehead from mine and look down at me.

"Thank you." I repeat and he gives me a soft smile.

"Let's just go grab our stuff and get out of here." Draco says and I nod, letting him lead me upstairs to his room.

We finish packing and checking the room to make sure we didn't forget anything and we head back downstairs. We were sure that Lucius was unfrozen by now so we rushed to the front door. We were about to walk out when we head,

"Draco," Draco and I freeze, looking back at the voice.

"Mum," Draco says and sets his bag down on the ground, walking over to her.

"We're headed back for the school." Draco explains, giving her a quick hug.

"Please be safe." She whispers in his ear with her arms wrapped around him.

"I will." Draco says and they pull apart. Cissy places her hands on his cheeks and makes him look at her.

"And take care of her, yeah?" She says and Draco's face flushes, she tries to whisper the next part but I heard her. "She's a keeper." She says and I pretend I didn't hear anything while fighting off a smile.

"Believe me. I know it, mum." Draco says, look back at me for a moment.

"Okay, you guys better get going. Be safe, don't talk to strangers!" She says as Draco walks back over to me. Cissy follows shortly behind him, when she gets to me she pulls me into a big hug.

"Thank you for taking care of my boy." She whispers and then we pull away.

"You're welcome." I say with a shy smile.

"You be safe too, alright?" She says and I nod. Draco takes my hand in his and leads me out the door.

"You ready?" He asks me, looking down at me as we walk.

"No," I answer honestly and he takes a shaky breath.

"Neither am I." He agrees.

"Wake up love," I'm waken up by someone shaking my arm lightly. I stretch my muscles and look at Draco. 

"Sorry, I didn't realize I fell asleep." I say to him. I always fall asleep on train rides no matter how hard I try to stay away, I don't know why though.

"It's alright, you always fall asleep on train rides." Draco says, speaking my thoughts. I smile at his sentence and he looks at me a little confused but smiles back.

"We almost here?" I ask redirecting the topic off of me.

"Yeah, about 5 minutes out." Draco tells me. We stay seated for a moment, just looking out the window.

"You nervous?" Draco asks me. Luckily because we are coming back at such a weird time, it was just us in this train cart.

"Yes, I don't want to lie to my friends." I answer and Draco chews on his lip.

"I'm sorry I dragged you into this, I know that you love your friends and that they just started being okay with me and I'm sorry this had to happen." Draco apologizes, fumbling with his rings on his hand.

"It's okay, Draco. It's not your fault. I just- don't like lying." I say and there's silence so I continue. "I just wish I could tell them." I finish and Draco looks at me.

"I love you, but that's not a good idea. Tell Harry that I have the death mark?" He whispers the Harry part quiet along with the rest of his sentence.

"I know, I know. But what if they could help us?" I say and Draco sighs sadly.

"Angel, we've talked about this." He says, it's true. We've talked about this many times, mostly at 3 am when were talking about random stuff though.

"There's nothing they could do to help me. And even if there was you really think they'd do it?" He says and turns to look at me.

"Honestly," I pause and Draco nods at me.

"I think it would take them a little to register what's happened but yes. I do think that they'd help us." I answer and Draco looks like he's really thinking about what I said. I was about to continue my sentence when the train started coming to a stop.

"We'll continue this later, yeah? For now, I know it'll be hard but let's not tell anyone, okay?" Draco asks, standing up and grabbing our bags. I nod and give him a quick kiss on the cheek.
