Chapter 23: 'i love you'

"Holy shit y/n" they say as they grip you tight, hugging you.

You keep you legs straddling his and your head tucked on his chest trying to calm down from your adrenaline rush. He grabs the back of your head with his hand holding you tight. Harry comes flying around the corner,

"Hey mate what are you doing?" Harry spits at Draco. Draco turns and looks at him and says,

"Protecting her like you should of been!" He says angrily

Harry scoffs, "the only thing she needs protecting from is you" you feel Draco tense and then you give him a reassuring squeeze and look up at him and feel him almost instantly relax.

"Harry, it's okay. I just ran into him and he caught me before I fell to far." You say looking at Harry. Nobody says anything for a little so you continue,
"Can we just get on the floor please?" Draco nods but doesn't say anything as he flies to the ground, Harry short behind him. You get to the floor and Draco helps you up. You look up and smile,
"Thank you" you say taking a step towards Ron, who's walking towards you guys. You get one step in and your legs give out causing Harry and Draco go to catch you. You let out a small laugh as they both eye each other while holding onto you.
"Guys calm down! I trip all the time this is nothing special." Harry agrees and let's you go but Draco stands you up properly.

"We need to go get you checked out" Draco says putting both hands on your head examining you.

"Draco I'm fine!" You say. Draco smiles at the use of his first name and you look at Harry,

"For once I agree, we should get you checked out" you look at Harry and mumble,

"Fine let's go" Ron is walking up to you guys and you pretend to trip and say,

"Ron! I can't walk! You should give me a piggy back ride!" You say holding your hand over your forehead. You look back at Harry and Draco and shoot them a thumbs up and they just laugh quietly.

"You're not a very good actor" he laughs mocking you and your thumbs up

"Ugh pleaseeeeee" you whine,

"Fineeee but only because I love you" you smile and jump on his back, Draco's obviously confused as he looks from you two back at Harry.

"Yay!" You say hoping on his back and he walks forwards leaving Draco and Harry.

You and Ron head to Madame Pomfrey, Ron spins you in circles laughing,

"Ron!" You laugh and hold on to him tighter so you don't fall.

Dracos POV
"Ron! I can't walk! You should give me a piggy back ride!" Y/n says as she turns back to us shooting us a wink and holding two thumbs up. I quietly laugh as to not give away her plan but he saw right through it.

"You're not a very good actor" Ron says laughing causing y/n to groan and I bite my lip to keep in another laugh.

"Ughhhh pleaseeeeee" she whines

"Fine but only because I love you" Ron says smiling as she jumps up happy. I'm sorry what the fuck did he just say. He loves her? I look at Harry who's just looking at the two smiling. His eyes meet mine and he puts on a smug look on his face obviously because he knows something I don't about them. I swear to god if he doesn't tell me he'll be the one needing to get a check up.

"Yay!" She squeals hoping on his back heading down the field. Once they're out of hearing distance I turn to look at Harry,

"Love?" I question trying to be civil before I rip his head off but he just lets out a small laugh.

"Yeah they're best friends" Harry says to me. I couldn't help but clench my jaw as I look at y/n. She's laughing so hard as Ron spins her in circles causing her to cling onto him. That should be me she's clinging onto.

"Right... friends" I say lowly more of a growl as I turn to look at Harry. This was the most civil conversation we've ever had. That is until Harry let's out a laugh.
"What?" I spit at him

"Nothing, it's just funny to see you jealous over something that isn't yours and will never be yours" Harry says as a-matter-of-factly. I try to keep my cool, at least until y/n can't see us anymore but I said.

"What makes you think she won't ever be mine?" I growl at him.

Harry shrugs, "she's way out of your league-" I cut him off laughing.

"Oh but she's in yours?" Harry shrugs,

"I don't go around leaving bruises on her and then go kiss some other girl after I kissed her" he says angrily. I scoff, it hurt me to know I hurt her. I didn't mean to and I know she knows but it's obvious her 'friends' don't.

"That was a fucking mistake so don't talk about that shit again" I say taking a step closer to him.

"Whatever, just saying you're pretty shitty person and she deserves better. So why don't you do us both a favour and leave her alone?" He questions taking a step towards me

"Listen here, you little bit-" I got cut off by a girl voice

"Harry come, Ron and y/n are probably halfway down to Madame Pomfrey by now!" It was Hermione. She turns to look at me and look confused and surprised.

"Yeah you're right let's go Hermione" Harry says to her and starts walking away, not taking his eyes off of me until Hermione grabs his hand and they start walking away. Well more like Hermione jogging and dragging Harry. As soon as they're out of sight I sit down on the grass looking at the sun setting. As much as I hate to admit it, he's right. I'm no good for her, she'd do much better with someone like Ron or ever Harry as much as it killed me to admit that. She'd do better with anyone as long as it wasn't someone like, well me. I shake my head knowing what I have to do but so desperately don't want to do.

"What is this girl doing to me" I mumble under my breath as I stand up heading to my dorm, even though what I want to do is go check on y/n and make sure she's okay. I mean I was the one that caught her after all.
