"Y-your Highness," the maid whimpered, "please." The boy tried to break free from the prince's grip, but his brisk steps didn't give him the chance to. Changbin's head was spinning with thousands of thoughts. He couldn't fully comprehend what was happening.

They reached the second floor and Felix directed his steps to the left wing of the castle. Changbin knew where he was going. On the way, he recognized the chambers as the first prince's. Next would be Felix's.

He was right. The prince opened the immense door to his bedroom and tugged the boy inside. He sat him down on one of the velvety chairs across the bed. The prince knelt down, enabling the maid to take a peek at his face. The expression on it was a mix of different emotions; not even one of them being a happy one.

Changbin gulped and clutched his free hand on his baby bump. Did he anger the prince? Nothing made sense to him. Too scared to utter a word, he started shaking uncontrollably.

Felix lifted his gaze to the boy's panicked eyes and his expression softened instantly, loosening the grip on the maid's hand but never letting go of it.

"Hey, hey. I mean no harm. You are safe with me," the prince reassured. "I'm sorry for being harsh with you on the way. Are you okay? Did I hurt you?"

Changbin shook his head no. "You did not. I was just surprised... but Your Highness, may I ask you why did you help me?"

Felix freckled covered cheeks turned a delicate shade of ruby, and he turned his head from the boy for a brief moment. "I was looking for you-"

"You were looking for me?" Changbin babbled with a perplexed expression, not fully acknowledging the fact that he had just cut in a member of the royal family; his head tilted like a curious puppy.

Felix cleared his throat and continued. "I noticed your scratched hands, but I had to attend a meeting with my mother, so I wanted to find you after and hand you the ointment. When I entered the kitchens, I heard the commotion and stepped in." he explained. "I was shocked to hear that you are expecting," he mumbled.

Changbin's heartbeat sped up again. "I apologize. Your Highness must be disgusted by me," he said.

The prince widened his eyes and shook his head energetically. "No, no! I'm not disgusted by you. It just caught me off-guard," he denied. "So... it's true that you are pregnant...?"

Changbin blushed and giggled nervously, casting his eyes on the hand on his belly. "Y-yes, it's true."

"Which month?"

"Second."

"Are you and the baby okay? Have you done any check-ups yet?" the prince asked.

"I am perfectly fine, Your Highness. The baby is healthy too. I haven't done any check-ups yet, but I will, soon," he replied with a gentle smile.

Felix returned the content smile, but soon it was replaced by worry. He shifted slightly in his position and began cautiously: "I need to confirm something. I'm not expecting an answer of you, should you be uncomfortable, though."

Changbin's heart skipped a beat at the words. Suddenly, his palms turned sweaty, and his face became hotter. He can't know. He didn't remember-

"I want to confirm that with whomever you have the baby made it with your consent," Felix looked the boy straight into his eyes and waited for any type of answer.

Changbin blinked rapidly, not expecting the prince to care if the child was an outcome of sexual harassment. "I assure you that it was consensual. It wasn't planned, but it was with consent."

The prince's eyes visibly softened and he nodded. "Then the father..."

"It's only me and the baby. I hope Your Highness won't feel offended by it, but I prefer not to mention the father-"

"So he is a coward! How could he leave such a precious person alone with a baby?!" he suddenly shouted angrily, scaring the boy to death.

"No, it's not what Your Highness thinks. We- I- it's better this way," Changbin muttered, hoping it wouldn't make the prince angrier.

Felix sighed and squeezed his hand gently. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have reacted like this. I want to believe in your decision."

The maid flashed the prince a sad smile. "I am grateful for your help, although I believe I don't deserve it, but what you've said to the castle staff is wrong. I understand that Your Highness wanted to stop the bullying, but you have to deny it. You are engaged to a princess. I'm just a maid from a lower-class society. It would affect your image. Not only yours but your family's too-"

"Neither can I take back what I've said, nor will I. If you let me, I wish to take care of you and the baby. Even though I'm not the biological father, I want to treat it like my own," he stated without any hint of joke.

Changbin's eyes watered at the serious confession. He looked deeply into Felix's ocean-blue eyes, battling with his feelings.

"Why?" he whispered on the edge of tears.

The prince tucked the boy's obsidian hair behind his ear tenderly and was about to open his mouth, but the sound of the door flying open with great force disrupted his words.

"Lee Felix, you are in trouble."
