The silence in the room after the queen had left was unbearable.

Felix hadn't moved an inch since the door closed. The only thing that Changbin could see was the back of his tall silhouette.

Although the boy's heart was beating like crazy and he was battling with his feelings he knew what he had to do.

He was about to open his mouth but the prince beat him to it spinning around with a soft expression.

"Don't worry about what mother said. It will be okay, I promise," he ensured; the blue in his eyes resembling a tranquil ocean.

The way he gazed at the smaller made him get lost in the depths of it for a moment until he heard Felix speak again.

"Sit down and wait here for me. I will bring you something to eat." The prince wasted no time and exited the room to head to the kitchens.

Changbin stood there for a moment longer anxiously caressing his baby bump. He wanted to move but his feet didn't budge. Something about Felix promising him that everything would be alright made him almost give in to the thought that it truly could be okay but he knew it wouldn't.

He couldn't be selfish.

He couldn't be naive.

Changbin stepped in the hall and directed his steps to the queen's chambers. Once he reached them he knocked on the massive door and waited.

The door soon creaked open and one of the queen's maidservants peeked outside. Upon seeing the boy, her stoic face turned into a grimace of perplexion.

Changbin knew how rude and inappropriate it was considered to disturb the queen in her chambers. According to the etiquette, to meet her, one had to plead for an audience with her which later on took place in the auditorium.

The boy knew the consequences of his rebellion yet he didn't have time to ask for a meeting in a proper way so instead, he bowed deeply to the maidservant and begged her to let him see the queen.

All the commotion made the queen go out and see what it was all about herself.

"Let the boy in and leave us. You may rest," she instructed her and moved away from the door so that the boy could get in.

Changbin was shaking but he didn't back away. He followed the queen to her resting area and bowed fully once she took a seat on one of the custom-carved oak chairs beside a small table where a cup of steaming fragrance tea was.

"Your majesty, I am deeply sorry to disturb you in such an improper way but I needed to talk to you urgently," he croaked out trying his best to contain his shivering body.

"You may rise. Come sit with me and drink some tea," she motioned for the boy to hurry up and poured him a cup of orange petal green tea.

Slightly puzzled, Changbin stood up and sat down on the other side of the small table. The queen sounded much more resigned and exhausted than earlier. Her long blond strands flowed freely around her shoulders; no golden ornaments adorning her mane.

She sipped a bit of the tea and sighed.

"What was the urgent matter you wanted to discuss with me? I believe it's about my son and the revelation," she asked turning her attention to the nervous maid.

Changbin gathered the left specks of confidence he had and spoke up.

"Your majesty, I apologize for the commotion that I caused. Prince Felix is a very caring person so he acted upon emotions when saying what he had said about the child," he paused for a short breath and put one hand on the small bump before continuing.

I'm sorry, little one. From now on it will be only you and I. I hope you won't hate me for it in the future.

"It's true I am expecting but the baby isn't his."
