Changbin huffed out a puff of air feeling exhausted after climbing half of the staircase leading to the princes' private chambers. He had just dismissed a maid who accompanied him to the dressmaker's, and even though he didn't think her help was necessary, he struggled with the stairs quite a bit. The boy took a short break on the thirtieth one.
"I'm only 3 months pregnant. Come on," he whined quietly to himself. "Baby, don't give mommy a hard time already," he pouted massaging his baby bump through Felix's cerulean silk dress shirt.
He sighed and slowly renewed his walk. Not long after, he heard some footsteps behind him, and soon the crown prince caught up with him smiling softly at his brother's fiancé.
"Binnie, how are you?" the blond greeted matching his steps with the boy's and offering his hand for support.
Changbin returned the smile and accepted the prince's silent offer. "Minho hyung, it's nice to see you. As you can see, I'm struggling a bit but I'm fine," the boy giggled.
"Too many stairs, right?" the older joked. Changbin nodded amusedly. "I hate it too."
They climbed a few steps in comfortable silence until Minho began the conversation again.
"Are you feeling okay these days?" he asked softly. "Jisung wrote me to check on you. Recently he's been busy with the wedding preparations and had to come back to his kingdom for a week or two," the prince explained. "He was worried about leaving you... More than he was worried about leaving me," he pouted making the boy chuckle and turn a shade redder.
"That's so kind of Jisungie," he cooed. "The baby and I are perfectly fine, contrary to your hurt heart," he let out a bubbly laugh.
Their small chat went on as Minho walked the boy to his chambers. Changbin thanked him and they bid their goodbyes.
With a wide smile, he opened the door and entered. A delicious smell of his mother's dish filled his nostrils. Was he imagining things? Changbin peeked around the day area of his and Felix's chambers and squeaked when something obstructed his vision.
"Felix? Is that you?" he giggled. His lover was so childish.
"'Felix?' I don't know who he is," the prince joked kissing the boy's nape tenderly.
"Hmm, is that so? Then who might you be, mister?" Changbin pretended to think hard. "Ah! I know, I know! You must be my handsome almost-husband," he clicked his tongue and let out a heart-melting laugh.
"I like that one," Felix approved. Still not letting his lover see the surprise he had prepared, he grabbed his hand gently and led him to the table. "I love the name, but today I'm your butler, princess," the prince said and retrieved his hand, so Changbin could see the beautifully decorated dish with a cup of flower tea on the side waiting for him to dig into it.
The boy's eyes lit up with tiny sparks of excitement and he pecked his lover's lips completely over the moon.
"Thank you, Lixie!"
