GABRIELLA POV
So apparently, the designer company called my phone and explained to me that I would have to do an interview. I kind of makes me mad they didn't tell me about this when the woman handed me that big ass stack of papers but it's whatever. Right now though I'm getting ready for this stupid thing. I'm really excited about it and I pray that I get this job. I mean, I don't mind working at a store in a mall or something but Chresanto wants me to do this and give it a try so I'm doing it for him. And speaking of Chresanto, today they're having basketball tryouts at the school and he decided to give up football and try something new for a change. I don't really know how good he plays in basketball because football was always his thing. But I am sure he's good at considering he's trying out for it. "Are you ready?" Ruby asked me from downstairs. I kind of needed the support, and since Chresanto can't be there, I decided to tag Ruby along. "I'm getting there." I said back in frustration. It was hard trying to find an outfit to where to this place. I'm still a teenager and most of the people who work there are adults. I needed something that said I'm not that immature and that I am capable of getting the job done. I just threw on some black skinny jeans, a plain white blouse, some red flats with little soft red roses above the toes, and a red belt. I also put my hair in the neatest bun possible and threw in a little jewelry to tie the whole outfit together. I guess I looked nice. "How do I look?" I asked Ruby twirling around in a circle so she could see every inch of my outfit. "You look amazing, Gabriella. I didn't even know you had all that in your closet." She said smiling at me. I chuckled. "That's because I've never put this all together. Let's just go though! I kind of want to get this over with so hopefully I can see a little bit of Chresanto's tryouts before they're done." I said pushing her out the door. "You're right. Gosh, I'm just so proud of you, girl." She said smiling harder as she hopped in the passenger's seat. "I don't know what to say." I responded literally not knowing how to answer that. I had no words myself though. I didn't expect myself to be reaching for such a job at my age! This is so crazy to me. But anyway. When we arrived at the building, we both got out the car and headed towards the door. "Well, damn. Ain't no doubt in my mind you won't be making some money here." Ruby said looking around as we entered the place. "If I get the job." I said thinking about how the interview might turn out for me. "You know you're going to get this job. Have a little faith, would you?" She said elbowing me in the arm. I sighed and walked to the front desk. I was so happy when I realized it wasn't the same woman who was here the other day. Hopefully she got fired or something. "Hi, I'm Gabriella Segura. Here for the interview with Mr. Clark." I informed the woman behind the desk. She looked up from her computer and smiled at me. "Right. Just take the elevator to the seventh floor and go straight down the hall until you see the biggest door." She said pointing to the elevator. I nodded my head and Ruby and I walked over to it. "Do you want me to wait down here for you?" She asked as I clicked the button. "Yeah, that'd be nice. God, I'm so damn nervous." I said making sure my hair was still together. "Don't be. I'm sure you're going to do fine." Before I could answer the elevator doors pulled apart captivating my attention. "I'll see you in a minute." I said to her walking in the elevator and pushing the button that would take me to the seventh floor. "Okay, just text me when you're done." I nodded my head and the doors shut. There were no words to describe how nervous I was. I was just nervous! And I don't want to have to leave this place with nothing good to tell Chresanto. I mean I hope I have nothing but good things to tell him. I shook it off as the doors opened again and I headed down the hallway. When I saw two glass doors with the name of the company written on it, I figured that was Mr. Clark's office. You cold see straight the windows but I didn't see anyone. I shrugged and just knocked on the door. "Come in!" I heard someone say. I took a deep breath and pushed the doors open letting them close behind me. "Gabriella Segura." He said swinging around in his chair. Right behind him was a huge window and if you looked out it, all you saw was city. "That would be me." I said raising my hand nervously. "Take a seat. This interview won't take long so if you just answer my questions right, then you can leave out of here with a job. Got it?" I nodded my head as he pulled out a few stacks of paper from under his desk. "I read over your application papers and you seem pretty worthy. How old did you say you were?" He asked kicking his feet up. "I'm 16 years old. And please don't tell me that it's going to affect any of my chances getting this job!" I said looking at him seriously. "Now you seem desperate. I don't like that at all." I raised and eyebrow at him and just rested my back against the seat. "Sorry, sir." I mumbled. "Don't be sorry. Just be aware, alright?."
CHRESANTO POV
"Pass it!" Coach yelled at the one person who had the ball. He panicked quickly and threw the ball to me without question. I smiled to myself and dribbled the ball down the court until I was right under the basketball hoop. I didn't hestitate at all before throwing the ball up and tossing it right in the net. I didn't know much of anything about basketball but what I do know is you just want to avoid the other team players as much as you can and just throw the ball in the net as much as you can. And it's easier said than done. But I have aim and I can definitley throw pretty good. Matter of fact, the ball did go through the net. Tryouts were a piece of cake. "Great job, August!" Coach said clapping his hands. I smirked and ran over to my bookbag to chug down some water before getting back out there. That's when Gabriella came to mind. I wonder how her interview is going. Like, before she dropped me off here, she was talking about how she knows for a fact she isn't going to get the job. And I'm kind of pissed she's having negative thoughts about this. But I know my baby is gonna get the job. Why? Because she's my baby. That's why. "August! You only get two minutes. Stop daydreaming and get your head back in the game!" Coach yelled looking at me. I shook my head trying to come back down to earth and quickly put my waterbottle back into my bag. Then I ran back out on the court to just get tryouts over with. And after about 15 minutes Gabriella and Ruby showed up. Damn my baby looked hella fine. So fine that it got kind of harder for me to concrentrate on anything. But anyway, towards the end of tryouts I felt pretty good about myself. I feel like I gave this shit my all and now I just have to wait and see if I'm really gonna get put on the team. Cause without me these niggas ain't nothing. "Baby!" Gabriella yelled jumping on me. I dropped my bags and wrapped my arms around her quickly. "Damn, Ella." I said putting her back down. I watched as she wiped her arms. "Ew, you're all sweaty it's disgusting. But it's so sexy too. Gosh you're so damn sexy, Chresanto." She said biting her lip while looking at me. I wrinkled up my face and looked over at Ruby. "What's going on?" I asked her. She laughed and then smiled. "Gabriella got the job!" She blurted out. My eyes widened and I looked back over at Gabriella who was just standing there looking at me. "I told yo ass you would." I started before slapping her on the ass. "But of course, you don't listen to a thing I say." She giggled to herself and I pulled her towards me kissing her on the lips. "We can definitley celebrate tonight if you want." I whispered to her then placing my lips back on hers. "I want, baby." She whispered back. "Okay, that's just gross. Somethings y'all just need to keep to yourself." Ruby said giving us the hand. I smacked my teeth and pulled away to look at her. "No, you were just listening too hard. I just whispered it to her." I said holding Gabriella by the waist. "Whatever." She responded back before rolling her eyes. "Wheres yo dude anyway?" I asked. "He's visiting his grandparents right now." She said crossing her arms. "Well, let me call this nigga up and tell him to get his ass back to LA. I think you're missing him." "Shut up, Roc." I laughed and then we all went to the car.
