GABRIELLLA POV

I took a sip of the liquor Monse gave me. I needed it from all the stress I've been having lately. "Dang, Gabriella. You sure drinking a lot." Rubs said. I wiped my mouth off looking at her. "I know, I know. Feeling a headache coming on." I said touching my forehead. "You sure Chresanto is going to be okay with this?" Ruby asked me. I shrugged my shoulders. "He'd actually be happy I'm drinking. I don't do it much and the stress ...I need this." I said. She nodded her head laughing a little. "Speaking of Chresanto ...some very interesting things came up in me and Ray's conversation last night." Monse said. I looked at her weirdly. "Like.." I said waiting for her to answer. "Chresanto hit you and he cheated on you?!" She said raising her voice. My eyes widened at her but I closed them quickly trying to stay calm and not start an arguement. "Thats none of your business, really. Why were you both talking about him anyway?" I asked. "Yes, it kind of is my business when it has something to do with my bestfriend since elementary school. Obviously he did if you're denying it and trying to avoid the question." she said. That cut it, but Ruby opened her mouth before I could say anything. "No, she's right Monse. It isn't our business. Even though I kind of agree with that." she said. My mouth dropped. "If he hit you girl, thats not a man. And if he said he cheated on you be mistake, thats a damn lie. Thats a choice to cheat, Gabriella." Monse said. "I'm saying! Like, the millions of tears you wasted on his ass. He's lucky I ain't said nothing yet. And what surprises me the most is that you're still with him. If I were you, the minute he put his hands on me, I would've left and never came back. Than he cheated on you girl. Thats something I can't come back to. The misery." Ruby said. "First of all, as I said before, it's none of your business. Second of all, y'all are some muthafuckin bitches and right now, I don't give a fuck about you 2 and your opinions on my life with him. But nobody talks bad about my husband. And your lives combined got nothing on mine. And the amount of years, the amount of memories we've made with each other is incredible and isn't very hard to walk away from. And you can tell Ray to keep my name and Chresanto's name out his mouth especially when that shit is extremely personal! So you better watch what the hell comes out your mouths about my family." I said getting my stuff together. They looked at me with their mouths wide open. But I didn't care. The choices I made brought tears to my eyes, put a smile on my face, and even brought children into a world of chaos. But none of that would have been possible if Chresanto wasn't by my side. And even though he did hit me and cheated on me, it isn't easy to let him walk away from me. I made those choices for a reason, and honestly I regret some of them, but I love him to death. I love him more than I love myself. 12 ½ years with him ...you try walking away. I slammed the door walking out of the house. I was pissed off. I walked towards my car and I noticed my balance was a little off. I shook my head and then I noticed my eye sight was a little blurry. I was drunk. "I can't do this." I said to myself taking off my shoes and leaving my car in Monse's driveway to walk home. I started on the side walk looking out for any police around. I could go to jail if they notice I'm drunk. I pulled out some sun glasses out my purse and put them on. From there on, I continued walking home. Every now and then, I'd wobble a little trying to keep steady, but I wasn't drunk enough to blakc out. So thats good! While I was walking, a car pulled up beside me. I turned to the side and watched as the window rolled down. I got even madder when I saw who it was. I smirked and continued walking down the side walk. "Gabriella.." he said drving forward but slowly. "Go away Grant." I said. "You look a little woosey. Want a ride?" he asked. "How do I know you're not going to kidnapp me and then rape me when we get to your house?" I asked. He chuckled. "You're funny." he said. "And I'm also being serious." I smiled. "Look, I told you I've changed. Get in the car." he said. I rolled my eyes. "I don't trust you. My husband wouldn't want me too anyway." I said. He wrinkled up his face. "Why do you let him walk all over you, miss?" he asked. I stopped walking and looked at him weirdly. "Excuse me?" I said. "I said, why do you let him walk all over you.  You let him tell you what to do, what not to do, and control you. That one conversation I heard between you 2 the other day said a lot about you, but him even more. I know I made mistakes in the past, but I've learned the hard way. I learned that a man should not talk to a woman like that. And you let him." I looked at the ground thinking about what he was saying. Well that was true. But why does everyone all of a sudden have something bad to say about Chresanto? "I ...." "Don't know what to say? I figured. My advise to you. You better put your man in check before he ends up thinking he can do what he wants to you." he said. "Just let me take you home. I'll tell you some more things I've noticed." he added. "What are you even doing in this city?" I asked. "Never left." I thought for a moment, sighed, and got into the car...

CHRESANTO POV

I unlocked the door, putting Crystal on the ground. "You guys go upstairs for a while." I told all 4 of them. "But I'm hungry." Crystal said. "Yeah, me too Papi." Christina said. "Okay. I'll make you guys some lunch. Just go play for a while." I said. They nodded their heads and ran upstairs. I sighed and put the bags of food on the counter. I was tired and exhausted. I've been working full - time lately, trying to make up the lost money we wasted on unnecessary things. I don't need to, but I chose too. Means less time with the family for a while. But I'll survive. Anyway, I turned on the television and started unpacking the groceries I just bought not too long ago. I pulled out some lunch items and placed them on the table trying to figure out what to make. I figured I'd just make them some sandwiches with some chips on the side along with some juice. I placed 4 plates and 4 cups on the table preparing the food. Once I did, it looked like a master piece to me! I've never worked so hard on lunch before. I smiled at the sight, wiping my hands on my shirt. "Kids!" I screamed. One by one, they all ran down the stairs in their pajamas. I wrinkled up my face. "Why the pj's? It's only 5:34." I said. "We know. But we wanted to eat and watch movies in something comfy." Chris said patting his stomach. "What makes you think I'm letting you all leave the kitchen with food?" I asked them. I watched Christina put her hands together and walk up to me. "Because you love us and you're nicer than mama." she said blinking her eyes at me. I laughed. "Fine. Go ahead." I said. They all smiled grabbing their plates and cups. "Yes!" Trey said taking a bite out of his sandwich. "Hey Chris, watch your little sister." I said pointing at Crystal. "Which one? I'm older than both of them." he said. "No you're not! I was born first!" Christina yelled. "No I am. Right?" Chris asked looking at me. "Uh. I'm not sure. But I was talking about Crystal. She's got juice. I don't want it to spill on the ground! Your mother will kill me if it did!" I said. He nodded his head grabbing her hand. "Okay. Calm on Crystal." He said walking up the stairs with her. I smiled and turned around when I heard the door open. It was Gabriella. But right behind her was someone I can't stand to see! "What the hell?" I yelled walking up to her. She had her shoes in her hand and he was holding her hand. "Chill man, before you go off on her. She was drunk so I gave her a ride home." the man said. "That don't mean you gotta put your damn hands on my wife!" I said slapping his hand out of hers. "Aye man don't touch me." he yelled putting his finger in my face. "Nigga, you're in my house now!" I yelled in his face. Gabriella stepped in between us, but faced me. "Chresanto, it's okay. Please baby. Calm down." she said soft and low. I wrinkled up my face. "Gabriella, what's been up with you lately?!" I asked her loudly. "He was only being nice." she said. "So what are going to do, forgive everyone person on earth whose hurt you in some type of way?! It was already hard enough watching you forgive your mother when she's the reason you've been raped a million times!" I said. "I forgave you." she said. "That's a different story and you know that." I said looking at her seriously. "Is it really, Chresanto?" she asked wobbling a little bit. I rolled my eyes. "The point is, he didn't have to give you a ride. You could've called me. I could've come and got you, Ella. I should've been the first person you thought about when he offered to give you a ride." I said. "And baby, you were the first person I thought about. I've been thinking about you all day." she said. "Aye, don't try it, Gabriella. I told you, you've gotta stick up for yourself." Grant said. I walked around her and got in his face. "So now you're telling my wife shit?! Who the fuck do you think you are?! Are you married to her, no. Get the hell out of my house before I call the cops." I yelled pointing to the door. He point his hands up and backed up and put his hand on the door knob ready to open it. "Okay, bruh. I'll see you later, Gabriella." he said walking out the door. "Not your bruh." I yelled looking at him in disgust. "Gabriella, whats wrong with you?" I asked locking the door. "Nothings wrong with me..." she said looking away. I nodded my head looking at her. "I can't even talk to you right now, baby." I said trying to walk away. Before I even got out the room she grabbed my arm quickly. "But , you're not mad at me are you?" she asked me. I jerked away from her. "Why wouldn't I be. You got drunk and rode with a nigga who raped you. Who raped you, Ella!" I said. "But you're always getting drunk. Why are you mad I did?" "Because coming from you, it's different and you know better. You're loosing yourself. Quit being so nice all the time..."
