CHRESANTO POV

In 2 days, I, Chresanto August, will be able to hold my baby again. It's only been 5 days but I don't like being separated from her. The 2 years was hard enough. I'm tired of the distance all the time. I don't think I can wait anymore, and I've been thinking about just picking her up from the house. The kids on the other hand, I decided to keep them at my mothers house because of all the mess that me and Ruby make here. The cursing, the screaming, the pranks, the R rated things, it's much too inappropriate for them. I curse at the kids sometimes. But it's only 2 words I say. Hell and damn. But the point is, I miss my family. I miss my Ella, I miss my Chrissy, my Chris, my Crystal, and my Trey. I miss all them a lot. I flipped through the channels on the television when I came upon a couple. A couple kissing in the bed to be exact. I sat there and watched for a moment. "I wish I could make love to my baby." I said to myself, still watching. "You're crazy Chresanto." I heard behind me. I clicked a button on the remote to change the channel. The only person who scares me without even trying is Ruby. I rolled my eyes turning around only to see her leaning against the couch. "What do you mean?" I asked her. She shrugged her shoulders, walking around the couch to sit beside me. "I've never met anybody who has a relationship like you and Gabriella. And even though, there's a lot about you guys I still don't know, I know enough to realize no one has the same love like you guys." she said. I was thinking, all I did was say I want to make love to Ella but what she said did make me smile. I sighed. "It's not a relationship, it's marriage. And it's not perfect, it's imperfect. I don't even understand it." I said quietly. "What do you mean?" she asked looking at me, and getting comfortable almost as if the conversation got more interesting. "It's hard to explain. I've put our marriage in jeopardy a million times before. I'm a lucky man if a woman like that belongs to me."  "I understand what you're saying. A little." I wrinkled up my face looking at her. "Anyway, why do you care? I have a feeling you're just using me to get me to go to your house so I can loose the bet." I said. "And as good of a plan that sounds, I'm really not. Although you could. I'm not stopping you." I chuckled. "Nice try, but no. Anyway, I'm finna go grab something to eat. I'll be back." I got up, grabbed my keys and phone, and walked out the door without saying anything else.  I sighed getting into the car. I went to whatever restaurant I came upon which was Applebee's. I flipped my keys around my finger walking into the restaurant. I haven't had some "me time" in a while. But I guess you could say I did since Ella hasn't been around. "The bar." I said to the woman behind the counter. "Just, go on ahead." she told me pointing in that direction. I nodded my head and walked towards the bar. The game was on so I might just be here a while. I sat down in the first seat I saw and leaned on the counter waiting for assistance. I always hated the fact a man had to give me a drink, but this time it was a woman. And I hated that too because I'm married. She seemed Gabriella's height, her hair was shoulder length, she was light skinned, and she had just the right amount of make up on. "What can I get you sir?" she asked  me. "Anything that I might like." I said adjusting my position in the seat. She nodded her head and poured me something. "I've got just what you need. I like to drink it when I'm feeling down." she said sliding me the drink. I wrinkled up my face. "What makes you think I'm down?" I asked looking at her. "Well, you've got a wedding ring on, you're alone, and dude you wearing man slippers." she said looking down at them. I laughed because of what she called them. I took a sip of the drink which was quite good. "What's your name miss?" I asked smiling at her. "Alana but, call me Ally." she said leaning across the counter from me. I nodded my head. "Well I'm Chresanto." I said holding out my hand for her to shake. She shook. "Nice name." she said. "Thanks, you too." I said smiling. "Anyway, you are married right?" she asked. I nodded my head. "With 4 kids." I said sighing. Where did time go? "Well dang. What is the lucky womans name?" she asked. "Gabriella." I said smiling to myself. Just thinking about her was overwhelming to me. "Do you have a picture or something?" I nodded my head pulling out my phone. Screen saver, always Gabriella. A beautiful picture of her at work. The money I paid for such a simple outfit. "Wow. She's really pretty." she said looking at the picture carefully. "She is isn't she?" I asked myself putting my phone away. "How long have you guys been together?" she asked. I laughed to myself. "Well shit, I lost count." "It's been that long?" she asked in shock. I nodded my head trying to think. "Almost 12 years now. I've only been married to her for 4 years though. And while we were dating, we broke up a few times but it was like nothing ever changed between us." I said. "So you guys must have something special." she said smiling. "We do. Along with a lot of history that is. What about you though? Do you have anyone special in your life?" I asked looking back at her. She shook her head. "Actually, I just got out of a bad break up a few weeks ago. We ended up getting into a physical fight, so I had no choice but to call it quits with him. Too risky." I sighed. "I know what you mean." For the rest of the night, we talked a lot. I ended up staying longer than I wanted to. The conversation just kept getting interesting, and personal. The more we talked, the more the conversation led to different subjects and questions had to be answered. Alana ended up giving me her phone number and I kept it. But before everyone gets mad and get in defense mode, I'm not attracted to the woman at all. Heck, I miss my wife! And I don't need someone else trying to lighten my mood up. Or, a woman trying to take her off my mind!
