She was on her bed, staring at the ceiling. It was hard to tell what time it was, considering that there were no windows anywhere. It had already been two days since the incident with the Zeke. Aaron was still in the infirmary, suffering lethal wounds. The poison from the decayed meat in the Zeke's claws had entered his body through the gashes. The medics were saying it was fatal. Kyle had been going out everyday, trying to find any trace of Zia. Apparently, when the remaining Alphas had gone to inspect the boundaries, Zia had disappeared. It was hard to believe that the leader of the Alphas herself had vanished. Kash was supposed to have started her training a day ago, much against her will.  Everything is a mess. Her mind was numb from the after effects of shock and grief. The doctors say he might not make it. The injuries were too big. Her throat was dry, and she was trying to stop the throbbing pain in her chest. I have to go see him. She slowly got off the bed and placed her feet firmly against the floor. Her head had been aching for a while now, and she was dizzy . The turn of events the day before still haunted her. She stood and put on one of the gowns from the wardrobe. She stepped into the hallway, just like she had in her first day there. She took some turns and bends through the hallways, trying to reach the Medic hall. She soon reached a little curve, and pressed her back against the metal wall, holding in her breath. She had been instructed to stay in her room. After taking turns, rounding corners, and getting lost, she finally arrived at her destination. She slowly walked, running her hand along the doors that were lined up. Room 121, 123, 124. Kyle had mentioned that Aaron was being held in room 127. She stopped at the dead end, and to her right was the door she was looking for. She heard footsteps echo through the hall, and quickly dove into the room and locked it. She took a deep breath and braced herself. The room was pure white, with a bland metal table draped with a white cloth. Like the one I first woke up on. There were machines beeping, and all sorts of wires injected into him. He lay on the table, chest rising and falling. She walked over to him, walking barefoot on the cold metal.

"Hey" she whispered. He was in a hospital gown. He seemed so feeble.  His skin lost its color, his lips were shaded a slight purple. His brown hair was tossled up and his eyes had a purple bruised ring around them. It hurt to see him like that. He opened his eyes slowly.

"Hey" he said, voice barely above a whisper. She winced. His voice was filled with numb pain. His warm chocolate brown eyes had lost their color. She then noticed the scars. Three huge gashes raked across his left cheek. His right arm was completely covered in bandages, now soaked red. There's supposed to be a scar across his back too. She had to stay strong for his sake.

"How are you?" she managed.

"I'm alright" he croaked, wincing with pain.

" You don't need to fake it, newbie." he said hoarsely. "I heard what the Zetis were saying. "

" No, you didn't. You'll be fine. " she said firmly, her voice cracked a little at the end.

" You don't need to lie, newbie. How stupid do I look to you?"

She managed a smile.
They exchanged a few words, before he started groaning from the effort of talking. Just then, the door opened. She whipped around, expecting an armed guard to march in. Kyle stepped through the door, his eyes downcast.

"What's wrong?" asked Aaron, barely audible.

"You shouldn't talk much" was the answer Kyle gave him.

"Kash, I need to talk to you" said Kyle.
She was getting a bad feeling about the way Kyle was acting. She promised she'd come to see Aaron, and followed Kyle out the door.

"What is it? Is everything alright?"

"Kash, I got word from the medics. I'm sorry"

"Sorry? What happened? Kyle what's going on?"

"They- they said Aaron.. "

"What about him?"

"He-" he stifled a tear

"He has a few days max before the poison gets to his heart. "

" What?! "
