Visions

Kash opened her eyes. Aaron. She sat up and looked around. Night had fallen. Aaron lay a few feet to her right, mumbling something inaudible. Kyle slept with one hand on his knife, curled up. Ian sat near a tree stump, on guard.

"So you're up. "  he said

" I guess so "  she stood up, her head throbbing. She walked over and plopped down next to him.

" Kash - " he began, looking uncomfortable.

" I'm guessing you want answers. "

He nodded eagerly. She sighed and began her tale.

It started a few days ago. At night, I'd have these dreams. I didn't know it then, but they were visions. I'd see things that were going to happen in a few days. A day before Aaron got hurt, I dreamt about it happening. Before the explosion? I had a dream about it too. I started to dream about people getting hurt. I felt hopeless, I couldn't help anyone. Then a night ago, my dreams changed. A woman came in my dreams. Her hair was braided with moonlight, her dress a brilliant blue. Her eyes shone gold. She told me there were others like me. She told me something. She said I could help these people. That I had to accept myself. Accept who I am, and my destiny. "You are powerful. More than you know."  she said. I told her to help me. She put her hand on my heart, and I froze in the spot. She went into me, Ian. I could feel her in me. I felt her power. She's in me, right now. I can tap into her power. She told me that I had to make sacrifices, painful ones for the greater good. "Dark times are coming. There will be others like you. Find them. Your path is dark, but you will walk it alone."

Ian listened patiently to her story. His eyes grew wider with every detail. I can't believe this.

"The lady. You tapped into her power to save Aaron? "  he asked.

She nodded. Her eyes looked pained, like she was trying to tell him something. He got frustrated when he couldn't figure it out. She's going through so much right now. This doesn't make any sense.

" These visions. Did you have any recently?"

She nodded again.

" I saw Zia. "  she whispered.
