Commander

There are two levels of confusion. Regular confusion and extreme confusion. Kashmir was experiencing a level three in confusion.

"What do you mean he's dead? I just talked to him a bloody second ago!"

"Kash listen-"

"No Kyle, you listen to me. What do you mean? "

" The day after you arrived, the Commander was attacked. "

"Attacked? By what, a Zeke?"

"Worse. An Orc"

"Wha-? Whatever. And he died?"

"Well, not really. A guard was there, luckily. He fought it off. But when he turned to make sure that the Commander was alright, he couldn't find him."

"So you assumed he was dead?!"

"Well, no one ever survives in the forest. It's too dangerous. Cursed as Zia said. The hunters only go a little distance in."

She was silent. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She'd just seen the guy, and she had talked to him. Less than a minute ago. This is too much. Something is not right. What did he mean 'here for a reason?' Then she realized something.

"Kyle"

"What? "

" You said commander dissappeared when the Orc attacked, right? "

" Yeah..... I dont really see where you're going with this "

" Zia disappeared when the Zeke attacked. "

" So what? "

"I don't know. They both disappeared, supposedly, when an animal attacked."

" Okay......and what do you propose? "

" I don't know, just thought I'd point that out. Maybe they're kidnapping us..... or something. " she trailed off, realizing how stupid she sounded.

He looked like he has trying to decide if this was a joke or if she was serious.

" Uh, kidnap us? They don't kidnap. They kill and eat. In case you forgot. "

" Yes, but maybe it's something else. Maybe it's not a coincidence. We need to go and explore. " she said, planning an escape.

" I have reached a level of confusion you cannot possibly comprehend. "

" Trust me. I need to go. "

" Okay. So to sum it up, you're saying some macho thing is happening in the forest which is affecting all the creatures and now the order of balance is messed up. So they are doing things out of the ordinary. Which includes kidnapping our people."

"Well, yeah. But this still doesn't explain why they're doing it. "

" Yeah. Or how they're doing it. Or what is causing them to do it. Or why you apparently saw Commander. Or wh-"

"Yeah, okay I get it. "

" So what now, genius? "

" Oh my gods, you are still so slow. "

" What? It was a serious question. "

" We figure out what's going on. "

" How d- Wait what? "

" Yeah. "

" You don't possibly mean going into the forest on purpose. "

" Oh yeah."
