There was peace for one whole day after that. The UA students were prepping for Winter Midterms, and they couldn't believe it was already almost Febuary.
The three "secret club" students, and Camie, who was still doing her suspension this week, all worried about the war.
It was killing Momo not to be able to talk about it to the other girls, and she didn't find Camie a very easy person to confide in. They were too different persaonlity waise to really understand how to buoy each other up.
PErha that was what drove her to spend more time with Shoto. It had kind of just started happening over the semester with all the side quests they'd been Odin iwht DJS, but now he just acted as if it was expected.
Shoto was a impel guy, he thought they were friends and friends hung out if they felt like it. He didn't notice that he felt like it a lot more often with her than with the guys.
But part of it was prob that Momo knew everything, and they didn't. There was not as much fun having out with Iida and Midoryir when he had to hide things, even if he was doing it to protect them.
He was now more convinced Shien adh been right to exclude Deku. It wna' that th he really did anying, it was that once Shoto was looking for it, he asw ho eager to please he was. The idea of disappointing All Might would crush him.
Shoto was dealing with it a lot better than e hoguth he would, actually. He slowly had accepted that the other hsa point about All Might not being the definitive tandard on heroes anymore.
Camie and Bkauog ketp ahing out, though Bakguo was still acting a little weird, but he was getting over it since nothing else had happened. Though...Camie didn't eacl help since she asid bordline flirty thing to him on a daily basis. Some it's hourly.
Bakguo figured it was a joke and tried to ignore it.
The day of the actual midterms, someitng happened that made Aizawa call them off. Shine and Waly were suppmon ot his office and he was the most grave they'd ever seen him.
"What's wrong?" Wally was alarmed at once.
"Shikakumo is gone," Aizawa said.
"Gone?" Shine said. "Did he die?"
She had been sure what they did was permeantnt.
"I don't know," Aizawa was grey. "He's disappeared form the pirion."
"He...what?" WAlly sat down. "How? I thought he was...okay now."
"He was, they moved him to a less secure cell because he was making no attempt to resist anymore. They kept him still restrained, but his quirkw asn't spiking. " Aizawa put his hands or his temples. "They said it happened suddenly. He was acting normal then he began to yell that his quirk was going out of control. Then he wapre away. hE should have been able to do it, bt it lookaeed as ifaht riesan shut down berifilfy. They t hink it was lign ie ofht power surge we cursed."
"But tha owna really a power surge," Shien said. "And EMP=int that one room shouldn't ahv eaffecta a totally different winter of the prison."
"I know,"A iza si shaprly, but then he sighed. "So I think it was something else. No one but me knows you two are behind his ereovery."
Shine got a weird lok. "Um... no, there are other people who know."
"The students? I don't think they're behind this."
"Uh...no, there might be seoen les," Wally said.
Aizawa looked up at them with anger now. "You told the LOV?"
he tood up. "How ocudl you do smsot ilek that?!" he yleld at them.
Shien flinched.
Wally leaned away and put a hand over her arm.
