78- Nights

James's POV:

I walk out of the ensuite, so Riley can have a shower and get changed into some comfy clothes. I go back into her room and see photos of us everywhere, there hanging up like polaroids on some coloured twine, it actually looks so cool. Theres also frames of us around too, she's added to it rather then take them down.

I hear footsteps behind me. Riley's footsteps, i jump though.

"Sorry didnt mean to scare you." riley spoke.

"Thats okay." i reply but dont take my vision of the photo i have my hand on.

"I remember that day." Riley spoke.

"Christmas Lunch." i smile.

"And i cheekily kissed you cheek at the last minute just as mum took the photo of me you, em and lexa." riley smiles.

"Good days huh?" i reply.

"Yes, and what about this one our new years kiss." riley hands it to me.

"Memories." i reply whole heartedly.

I felt sad, we arent making any new ones these days but right now i almost feel like we're making one.

"Come downstairs." i tell riley.

"Why?" riley asks.

"Dont even worry about it." i tell her with my cheesy smile, i know she loves.

"Alright." riley says. She puts out her hand out for me to take it, so i do and i lock our hands together, making our way downstairs.

Riley's POV:

"We're downstairs now." i tell james.

He squeezes my hand tighter and leads us outside, we sit under a blanket on the freshly mowed grass with the outside laterns on, and the night sky surrounding us. It was perfect. James set up a blanket and some pillows, and my favourite ice cream and my favourite lollies aswell as his macbook. He lay's on his stomach and i lay on my stomach beside him.

"What's this?" i ask james practicaly close to crying again.

This time i wasn't sad or emotional or stressed, i felt loved and happy.

"Well when you rang me crying, i knew these would cheer you up." james tells me as he hands me his green hoodie, i put it on his fresh scent radiating.

"You really care huh?" i ask him.

He focuses on his computer.

"Always will." James tells me.

I blush and i see the screensaver pop up. Us. I begin to blush. Alot.

"Didn't change it?" i ask him with a smile.

"Didn't need to, i have faith in us." james smiles at me. I give him a playful nudge.

"Turns out im not the only one." James says holding my hand.

I without thinking give him a kiss on the cheek.

Did i regret it? No! But i sure didnt mean to do it. I wasn't ready to forgive, the moment just took me by surprise.

James's POV:

Riley just kissed me on the cheek and i knew it meant something but she has always been good with mixed signals so i dont get my hopes up, well i try not to.

"Sorry." riley mumbles.

"Dont worry about it." i tell her with a smile.

We watch The Last Song and then Hunger Games, eating ice cream and lollies and just forget about our problems. Riley stealing every red gummi bear that i have in my hand. She goes to get my hand again and i grab ahold of her hand.

"Red ones are your favourite." i tell her.

"Yes they are, so dont eat the red ones." riley pleads.

"Or what?" i ask her cheekily.

"I'll push you in the pool." riley says with a cheeky smirk.

"Go on then. You'll go in with me since i do have your hand." i tell her smirking.

She pulls me over into the pool and pushes me in, it was warm and beautiful, Riley soon following. Riley laughing.

"See don't mess with me jay." riley tells me. I laugh back.

"Note taken." i tell her splashing her.

Riley's POV:

After awhile we go inside and get ready for bed, james having to wear no shirt because his was wet so we were drying it. I go to my cupboard and give him one of his blue hoodies, and throw it at him.

"Here wear this." i tell him.

"How do you have that?" he asks me.

"Well you left them here." i tell him with a somewhat straight face.

He puts it on and i lay beside him, he nods.

"Are you feeling better?" james asks.

"Much better thank you." i tell him.

"Good, now tell me what was wrong?" james asks.
