Chapter 64- taking one for the team.

James's POV;

Riley and I are just laying in bed together just cuddling and talking as I came over last night after we made it on the team, when my phone buzzes, I reach over Riley to get it and it's Miss Kate.

"Congratulations for getting into A Troupe, however I need to talk to you urgently bring Riley if you like as this may invlove her. See you soon, meet me in my office. - Miss Kate." I was a little scared by the text but I typed back "Thanks, and we will meet you there soon."

Riley immediately asks what's wrong.

"Everything okay James?" riles asks me.

"Miss Kate wants to meet us." I tell Riley.

"I wonder why." Riley says giving me a kiss.

"Same." I reply kissing her back.

Riley was in a cuddly mood and I didn't exactly want to get up and go to the studio yet as we still had an hour before we had to get ready for rehersals, but we got up much to both of our unliking.

Riley's POV:

James and I made our way hand in hand down stairs ready for dance, as we saw a lonely Emily sitting all by herself at the kitchen table, we sat next to her.

"Wasn't expecting you guys up for at least another hour." Em told us.

"Miss Kate wants to talk to us." James tells Emily.

"what about?" Em asks us.

"don't know really." I say to Em.

"Oh right." she says in a lonely voice.

"Whatcha doing on there? And where's mum and dad?" I ask Emily.

"Well Stephanie won't talk to me because she didn't make it, and mum and dad are out like usual these days." Em says looking a little sad.

"Well do you wanna come with us to the studio?" James offers.

I smile at James as he offers, him and Emily don't exactly get along well but there alright I guess.

"Thanks for the offer but I'm meeting hunter at Culture Shock." Em says with a little smile.

"Hunter hey?" I give Emily a little girl look.

"Just friends." Emily quickly tells us.

"Shouldn't you guys be going since miss Kate wants to talk to you." Em asks us.

"Guess so, c'mon riles." James tells me.

I grab his hand and we quickly make out the door. "Bye Em." we call out. "See you later." Em tells us.

James and I walk to the studio, swinging our hands around as we walk, almost as if we were two little kids holding hands. As we made our way to the studio, outside Miss kate's office we saw Beth standing talking to Sarah and some other girls from B troupe, we then made our way into the office, James leading the way.

James's POV;

As Riley and I sat in Miss Kate's office, Miss Kate looked a tad worried.

"Thanks for coming in guys." Miss Kate told us.

" Your welcome, what's up?'' I ask miss Kate casually.

" So Beth didn't make it in to a troupe.." miss Kate begins to speak.

"Poor Beth." Riley says a little sarcastically.

Deep down Riley was happy about it, and in a way I was too. I just knew what miss Kate was going to say next couldn't be good...

"Yeah, so anyway I gave her a small duet at the local duet competition problem is Charlie her dance partner bailed..." miss Kate spoke.

"What is that to do with us?" Riley asks miss Kate.

"Well James, I figured you could maybe do the duet and take one for the team." miss Kate smiled sympathetically.

The idea of doing the duet wasn't the worst, it is for the team after all, but Riley HATES Beth like you have no idea, and she hates how clinging and annoying Beth is and I do agree with Riley but it's not like I like Beth. After all it's for the team. I look at Riley in anticipation for her to speak or say something, but she just sits there.

"I'll be happy to." I reply.

I hope Riley isn't mad, after all she could have spoke up if she had a problem with it..

"You should go tell Beth, the awesome news thank you once again James. The team appreciates it." miss Kate tells me.

"I'll see you later riles." I say to Riley as I go over to Beth.

Riley's POV;

As James agrees to do the duet, I'm furious. WHAT IS JAMES THINKING?!

"I better go get them some drinks." I awkwardly tell miss Kate.

"Good idea sweetheart." miss Kate says with a sympathetic smile.

I go down to Culture shock and see Michelle in the line I stand with her.

"Hey lovely." Michelle tells me.

"Uh hey." I reply back a little upset.

"What's wrong?" Michelle asks me.

"James has to do a duet with Beth!" I tell her. Michelle looks shocked.

"But Beth is all over him enough as it is now?" Michelle tells me.

"Oh I know." I reply.

The person behind the counter hands me the 3 drinks as I pay, I face Michelle.

"I will talk to you later, lovely." I tell Michelle.

" Yeah good luck beautiful." she replies with a smile.

James's POV;

The duet so far is alright, Beth's moves aren't bad but I want to add more of my style into it. We then see Riley.

"I thought you might need drinks." Riley tells us.

"thank you." I say giving Riley a kiss on the lips.

"no worries." she replies taking a seat.

"how's it all Going?" she asks us.

"wonderful! James is a phenomenal dancer, he's getting all of it and I just taught him!" Beth tells Riley.

Riley rolls her eyes, I knew she wasn't happy, but she faked a smile.

"it's Going good." I reply sounding a lot less excited then Beth was.

I admit this situation was awkward in away, I'm dancing with my ex, while my current girlfriend doesn't like her, and and I want to be dancing with Riley, not Beth, but Beth is still obsessive over me and it's just all too confusing. What I do know is, Riley's the one I want to be with not Beth. I'm just doing this competition for the team!

Riley's POV;

This is like my worst nightmare, I can't stand it. But I'll pretend to be okay with it because James loves me and I'm his girlfriend, and I can trust him but Beth I can't trust her.. The next few weeks aren't Going to be fun...l
