Riley's POV:

2 days have passed since James and I hung out and he slept over. We practiced our duet still and still haven't got it down pack. I throw my dance singlet into my bag and go downstairs to hear arguing from my parents, which isn't suprising.
"Can i get a lift?" i ask.
"You haven't eaten breakfast." mum tells me.
"I'll eat at the studio. I am going to be there till late anyway since i have duet practice." i tell mum.
"Okay." mum spoke quietly.
By this point dad wasn't screaming just putting things into bags, i stand at the doorway of there roon and look in.
"Dad where you going?" i ask him.
"Buisness sweetheart." dad tells me as he zips up his suitcase.
"You promised you'd come with Emily and i to the movies and dinner on the weekend." i tell dad dissapointed.
"We'll take a rain check." dad says kissing my forehead.
"Okay." i mumble.
"Love you Ri." dad tells me.
"Love you too dad." i tell him quietly.

James's POV:
I am just getting ready for a troupe and apart of me is really excited to see Riley, but i also have to see Beth which i know is going to be nothing but annoying. I go to the studio and see the girls (Michelle, Chloe, Riley, Giselle, Stephanie.) sitting in Culture Shock so i go sit beside Riley on the empty seat, but she moves further  away so we're on the same couch but not close.
"Hey Girls, Riley can i talk to you for a second?" i ask her.
"Is it urgent?" riley asks me, in her annoyed tone.
"Just duet." i tell her. She nods and we both get up, walking away from the girls a little over by the music area.
"We cool to practice after A?" i ask riley.
"Not like i have anything better to do." riley mumbled.
Today riley doesn't seem happy and she seems almost annoyed at my presence, but i also think she might be sad though.

Riley's POV:
A troupe went well, and now James and i are just running through our duet somewhat. Him wearing the jumper i was using a couple nights ago. Thalia and Giselle cooling off and chatting at the Ballet bar. I was in no mood for James to be close to me, in fact i wanted quite the opposite actually. Dad leaving suddenly honestly makes me question these "buisness" trips, he has workers for that. James also seemed more pre-occupied then usual.
"Can you move closer." james demands.
"I'm close enough." i tell him.
He goes to lift me, but that same fear of worry runs through my mind so i squirm and eventually he puts me down.
"Riley, i've lifted you before." james tells me annoyed.
"Well doesn't mean i want to be lifted now." i tell him back.
"What's wrong with you anyway?" James asks.

James noticed, actually noticed. But im not telling him.

"Nothing's wrong." i mumble.
"Your lying." he tells me.
"Just go from the spin." i tell him.
He drops me, he was barely holding on to my hands.
"Sorry." he mumbles.
"Do you mind?" i yell.
"Do you?" james yells back.
Miss Kate enters, at perfect timing.

James's POV:
Riley one minute wants to be close and cuddle, next she doesn't want to be anywhere remotely close to me. I admit i am a little distracted as Eldon is really sad, and Beth also wants to hang out tonight. Miss kate enters.
"How's it all going?" she asks us.
Riley picks herself up off the floor in which she fell, partially because i wasn't holding her hands tight like usual as it hurts my heart to do so, and because she wasn't holding onto mine tightly too.
"I love to be dropped." Riley spoke sarcastically.
"I didn't mean to drop you, partially it was your fault." i yell back.
"It's always my fault." riley yells.
"I never said that." i mumble.
"You didn't have to." riley spoke back.

Miss Kate looks less then Impressed.

"Guys nationals is around the corner." Miss Kate spoke louder.
Miss Kate was right, i knew that, Riley knew that. If we had any chance of moving onto the next level which is Female Solo's then it was through our duet, the one we auditioned with.
"I know that." i tell miss kate.
"Tomorrow morning i want to see your duet, understand?" miss kate spoke.
"Whatever, can i leave now?" Riley asked.
"You still have another half an hour." Miss kate spoke.
"Sister emergency." riley said looking at her phone. I then see Riley run out of Studio A before either Miss Kate or I can reply. So i go meet Beth.

Riley's POV:
Em texted me as i was in rehearsals with James. So i go down to Culture Shock to meet her, i hadn't really seen her all day apart from A troupe.
"What's up?" i ask em as i take my seat.
"Why is dad going on buisness?" em asks me.
"Don't know." i reply quietly.
"Atleast him and mum can't fight for a few days then." em spoke.
"Yeah guess not." i speak quietly.
"Yeah, how was duet anyway?" em asks.
"Some old." i say, sadly.
"We should go home." em tells me.
"Yeah, considering i have to be here extra early tomorrow." i tell em as we walk out of Culture Shock towards the car park.
"What why?" em asks.
"Duet with James. Kate wants to see it." i tell em.
"Emzy! Riley!" Hunter calls out.
"Go sit in the car sis i wont be long." Em tells me as she hands me her keys.
I go to her car and see James walking beside Beth who's  laughing and talking just as im about to enter the car, instead of them stopping James just looks sad and sympathetic as they walk past Emily's car, him noticing me.

James's POV:
"Can i stop to talk to Riley for a second?" i ask beth.
"My mum will be here any minute." beth tells me.
"Alright fine." i reply quietly.
We walk past Emily's car, and i just look at Riley as i walk past, giving her a smypathetic look.
**
As i lay in bed, i wonder why Miss Kate wants to see the duet tomorrow and why so early in the morning. Apart of me thinks it cant be good though.
