James POV;
As we take our seat and the twins sit next to us as we wait for the function to start, mum is talking to one of her friends, so we are watching the twins.
Riley's POV;
So we're at the function and I look up every so often and look at James who looks back at me with a smile on his face. Once the service came to an end we get up and make our way to the car, James's hand intertwined with mine. He then opens the car door for me.
"hop in beautiful." James says to me opening the door.
"thank you jay." I reply smilling.
We both hop into the car, James sits next to me In the back once again.
He's mum starts talking to us.
"So we are going to the airport to pick up your sister kids" he's mum says
"yay" the twins say with pure excitement.
James doesn't look so happy, he never talks about his sister Jassy, and he probably doesn't really get along with her.
"great." he mumbles
"why dont you like her?" I ask softly
"I just don't." he replys
I give him a kiss on the cheek before saying "I'm right here beside you James."
He looks a lot happier, and says "thank you riles." before giving me a kiss on the cheek.
We sit in silence the rest of the way as James runs his hands through my long hair.
James POV;
Here we are at the airport, going to get my sister Jassy, yay.
I grab Riley's hand tightly as we walk through the airport corridors, there so busy for 10pm on christmas eve, probably everyone getting home in time for Christmas. We finally see Jassy and my mum and the twins give her a hug, eventually Riley speaks up noticing I'm standing away a little bit.
"I'm right here jay, you can do this." she whispers in my ear lovingly.
"I don't want to." I reply.
"jay, you can." she replys reassuringly.
"okay." I mumble.
Riley holds my hand tighter squeezing it as we make our way over to my family who are exchanging hello's.
"hey I'm Riley, it's nice to meet you." I hear Riley speak up.
"I'm Jassy it's nice to meet you two, I hope James plans on keeping this one." she replys.
I look at Riley and notice that smile on her face fading, as she swings my hand around.
"so Jassy, can you not start already?" I reply annoyed at her.
"I'm sure he does." riles speaks up.
"of course I do gorgeous." I reply reassuring her.
We kiss in the airport and we hear the twins giggle.
Jassy mum and the twins all walk ahead of us as Riley and I walk back a little bit, with our hands intertwined, when Riley speaks up.
"she seems uh nice." riles replys
"see my point?" I ask
"kind of, but I'm sure she's just tired." Riley speaks up a little bit unsure.
"riles?" I reply.
"yes jay?" riles says back softly
"you know I plan on keeping you, right?" I say lovingly. I kiss her. As she kisses back.
"I know you do, jay." riles says smiling with her cheeks turn a bright red colour.
"you're doing it again." I remind her.
"shut up!" she says with a giggle.
We hop back into the car me opening Riley's door for her again, as we sit in the car as mum drives silently, Riley looks somewhat tired.
Riley's POV;
So James's mum is driving us home from the airport and the function, I'm extremely tired but don't want to fall asleep, I try to put music on softly through my phone to keep me awake but it's just not working. I rest my head onto James shoulder, and eventually I fall asleep James giving me a kiss on my forehead.
James POV;
I watch Riley asleep next to me, and just cherish this moment here with her, I let her sleep until we finally make our way to her house.
"you should probably wake her up, James?" mum reminds me.
I didnt want to, she looks so peacefull and I know she hasn't been sleeping well. So I open up the door and grab her phone that's in her lap and put it in her bag while placing her bag on my shoulder, I undo her seat belt and pick her up just as Emily opens the front door.
"did she fall asleep on you?" Em asks.
"yeah she did, I didn't want to wake her." I reply
"you know you're going to have to carry her up the stairs to her room then right?" Em reminds me.
" I know is that okay?" I ask little unsure.
"go for it, I am not carrying her." Emily says with a giggle.
" okay." I reply smilling back.
I carry Riley up to her room bridal style, and place her onto the bed removing the envelope off the bed which says "my boy." on it with her hand writting I smile as I place it onto her dresser next to the photo of us. I put her bag down taking her phone out and putting it on the dock that's on the dresser, and take her shoes off, before putting a blanket that's on the end of the bed onto her and I kiss her head gently as I whisper
"good night my princess, stay amazing." I say softly before giving her another gentle kiss.
I turn off her light and quietly shut her bedroom door before making my way back down to Emily who's up with Alexa down stairs.
"everything good?" Em asks me from the sofa.
"yeah, she's fast asleep, I will see you tomorrow." I reply
"you will, and James?" Em asks me
"yeah Em?" I reply awkwardly
"thank you." em says
I look at her awkwardly "what for?"
"treating her how she deserves to be treated." Em says smilling
"your welcome. She's amazing." I reply smilling.
"good night girls." I eventually say
Alexa just smiles, while Emily replys.
"night James"
I walk out of riles house as I close the front door behind me smilling, as I hop back In to the car in silence as we make our way back home. I then go up to my room and lay on my bed, and slowly drift off to sleep. Best Christmas eve. Ever.
