Riley's POV;

I wake up and go downstairs to hear Emily talking to someone quite quietly, as I keep walking further and further down the stairs I see James sitting at the kitchen table having breakfast with Emily? Little weird.

"What's Going on?" I ask curiously.

"I thought I'd pick you up." James says with a smile.

"I didn't hear my phone ring or get any texts." I tell him, clicking the home button on my phone.

"I know I just thought we'd continue since we have been lately." James says embarrassed.

"Besides, me and James were just having breakfast whilst you still got up right James?" Em asks.

"Yeah." James replies with a smile.

"Oh okay." I say heading to the draw to get my morning vitamins.

I search and search through the second draw trying to find them, but can't. Everything's been moved in here and I'm getting really annoyed quite quickly.

"EMILY! Why did you move stuff in the draw?" I yell.

James and her immediately turn there attention my way.

"I didnt move anything I just thought you must have." Emily admits.

"If I did I wouldn't be asking now would i?" I yell.

Before she can get up and help me look James is already onto it. He hands me the little bottle.

"Is this what your looking for?" he asks with a slight smirk.

"Yeah thanks." I say snatching the bottle away quickly.

He try's to give me a kiss but I quickly move away and he sigh's taking a seat back at the table. Emily send him a sympathetic look.

"Give me 10 and I'll be ready." I tell James.

He made the effort to drive here and wait for now half an hour I might aswell let him drive me, after all he is my boyfriend.

"Okay no worries beautiful." he says giving me a kiss on the cheek.

I go upstairs and get ready, calming myself down before beginning my day.

James's POV;

So Riley and I are just in duet practice, Thalia and Giselle gave it back to us so we are back in the music room trying to work on the duet after a troupe rehearsals. Riley is really quiet today, I'm not sure why though and we don't seem to be connecting or executing any of the moves.

"Riley what's wrong?" I finally ask, flustered.

She takes a seat and I sit beside her.

"I can't do it." Riley tells me quietly.

"Do what?" I ask, confusion flooding my face.

"The duet." Riley mumbles, whilst fiddling with her thumb ring.

Then I remembered Alexa, I'm keeping something from Riley already. Never mind, you can tell her eventually, when Alexa is ready.

"Why not riles?" I ask, a little upset.

"It's like we can't dance together and I don't know why." Riley admits.

It felt like that too, like we aren't trusting one another. Like Riley isn't trusting me even though she told me she could again, actions speak louder then words in this case. I feel sad when Riley tells me it's not working, even though i knew myself it wasn't working. Maybe the duet, being just back together and her parents divorce was all too much for Riley right now, but I want the duet to be something Riley looks forward to. I just hope we can make it work.

"I know what you mean, riles." I admit.

"What do we do?" she asks.

"I don't know, but I don't think we should worry riles. We have time to figure it out." I say trying to ease the situation.

We're quite pressed on time, only just over a month till Nationals but if anyone can get through it and make it through the drama and the fears it's Riley and I together as a whole, as a couple as one. I believe in us, just like she believed in me when no one else did.

"You honestly believe that, jay?" Riley asks.

I put my arm around her, pulling her closer to me. Smiling widely at her calling me my nickname, the one only we call eachother.

"Of course I do, riles. If anyone get us to Michelle's solo, it's us." I say smiling.

"I hope you're right, jay." Riley says giving me a kiss on the cheek.

Me too riles, me too. I think to myself.
