The Beginning of History

A/N: So I was answering a question from my history textbook and it made me have a beautiful crisis and I wanted to share it with everyone.

"My understanding of the world may change if I subscribed to the idea that history began with writing because I would be discarding all of the human races before that may have had a written record of their existence but lost it or was destroyed and would discard a civilization that may have no written record of their existence.

If I subscribed to the idea that history began with the emergence of our species, I would be subscribing to the idea that when the very first person came to be (Lucy??) it was the very first record of History. It would mean that I believe that the beginning of the universe has nothing to do with history and that events that were never recorded were counted as History.

Finally, if I subscribed to the idea that history began with the start of the universe, I would record human history, record the history of our world, and our earth. I believe that out of the options debated this is the true start of history. I believe this because if you look at the wonders of the world; our rich soil, bright shining stars, The sun and the moon that greet each other in passing every day, and yes, as Pochahantis has stated, even the colors of the wind. You would have to be out of your mind if you believe that these wise, ancient, beautiful, wonders of the world hold no history. That these parts of the world hold no knowledge of all of the years that earth has existed. We may never be able to reach this knowledge but to believe that there was no history before humans came to be, makes me wonder if there are people who think that everything came to be only when humans came to be if there are people who don't see the wisdom our soil holds. And I pity them because they cannot see the magic in our everyday life, they cannot see that our world birthed us and continue to hurt our life-giver and our original historian out of their own blindness.

Oh my god, what am I on rn???"
