I miss having writer's block

When I had it, I took it for granted.

I would flip back to memories in my mind

To try and write a tragedy off of whatever

Came to mind first. But as I sit here,

I have to hold myself back from spilling

All of my thoughts on this paper.

I miss not having a reason

To be sad, a lightness in my heart

That just couldn't stop

Shining. I miss not having

Dozens and dozens of drafts clogging

My brain, documents full

Of poems open on my computer

Spilling out of me with so much

That I want to say, but never will.
