Chapter Eighteen

FRIDAY NIGHT

Sitting on the couch with your plate in your lap you turn on the tele waiting for the interview with Chris.

Finally he enters the studio with friends. Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie.

"Hi guys great to have you here." Jimmy says.

Watching him you notice his face and how animated he is when he talks about his work and what project he is working on next.

Suddenly you start to get nervous as Jimmy asks about everyone's personal life. The guys start laughing and Sebastian starts excitedly shaking Chris' shoulders. You can see that Chris is smiling. He had obviously told his friends about the two of you.

"Chris I feel like you may have something to share with us." Jimmy asks.

"I mean I don't want to say too much it's very early but she is amazing." He blushes. "But no I can't say too much. I'm happy though."

"Oh wow you really like her don't you. What does she do? Is she in the industry? How did you meet?" Jimmy bombards with more questions.

"I met her in the park walking our dogs. We've had a few dates now. She is kind of in the industry and she is so passionate about her job and is amazing at it."

"Well you heard it here first guys Chris seems to be off the market and has very much fallen for this lucky young lady."

His friends all laugh and Chris shakes his head.

"She is going to kill me." He replies.

Turning off the tv you smile. He hadn't given anything away that it was you. You hadn't told anyone except your mum about the fall in the park and he didn't mention that. Everything was fine. No one would suspect you.

You knew it would take him a while to respond. He would still be on the show. You felt happy that he had told people about you. If only you had the courage to tell your friends who you were dating. Maybe you would tomorrow they may be too drunk to take in what you tell them.

It had been an eventful few days. Nathan had apologised and you had finally put him out of your life.

Chris had told you that he wasn't planning on seeing anyone else and was willing to wait for you. Everything was falling into place. Now you would have to pluck the courage from somewhere tomorrow to get up for the open mic night.

Sitting at the keyboard again you begin to write feeling the inspiration. Late into the evening you write another song and play the melody.

Chris facetimes you and your startled by the sound coming from your phone.

"Hey how are you?" You ask as your face appears on the screen along with his.

"Hey I'm good. I don't suppose you watched?" He asks.

"I did. You looked amazing. I'm guessing you told your friends about us?"

"He did." Suddenly two faces appear on the screen behind Chris. The faces of Sebastian and Anthony. They take you by surprise.

"Hi. I hope he has been telling you all nice things." You reply smiling.

"Yes we can't wait to meet you. How are you?" Sebastian said.

"I've told them they have to come to Boston to meet you. If you want to obviously." Chris explains.

"I mean I can't really say no when they are on the phone can I. So whenever they're here I'll make sure I'm available." You reply.

"I'm going to find somewhere quiet." Chris begins moving away from the guys. You hear them shouting 'bye' and 'see you soon'. "I'm sorry. They get carried away. How are you?"

"I'm good. Just had meetings all day for the book launch. Looks like I will be heading to New York at some point. Maybe a couple of other places. Chloe can't do all of the dates. Not much else really. How's New York?" You ask.

"Yeah it's been nice to see everyone. Jimmy was probing me after the show stopped filming. I didn't give anything away. The guys were grilling me last night about you and us. Oh wow so you will be going away?" Chris says with sadness.

"Yes just a few dates. Why will you miss me?" You ask.

"You know I will. I do. I can't wait to see you Sunday." Chris says.

"Me neither. Let me know the details. Text them to me. I may be hungover and not remember. I will have to get Maple from my parents first. Just maybe don't make it too early." You giggle.

"No I won't. I will message you. I better go. We're heading out for dinner with Jimmy. Speak tomorrow?" Chris asks.

"Of course speak tomorrow. Say goodbye to everyone for me." You blow him a small kiss. Then hang up.

The rest of the night goes quickly, you finish writing some lyrics and make a camomile tea then get into bed with Maple by your side and another manuscript to read.

Sending a quick good night text to Chris you snuggle down and fall asleep dreaming of the things you wanted to do to him and him to do to you.
