Sitting on the huge comfy sofa you nursed the glass of wine that Chris had just poured you. Unfortunately you were thinking back to the encounter you'd had before arriving at Chris'.

Firstly you didn't know how Nathan had found you unless your Ma had told him where you were. But you knew that would cause problems with your Pa. Second you couldn't believe she was pregnant. The affair must have been going on much longer than you knew.

He must have been lying to you when he told you it had only happened once. Of course he did that was the oldest excuse in the book. Why hadn't you realised?

What went so wrong in your relationship for him to completely screw you over? What was wrong with you that he found better in her?

You needed to stop torturing yourself. This wasn't your fault. He made his bed and now he would have to lie in it.

"Nell are you sure your ok? Do you want to talk about it?" Chris asked.

"Honestly I don't know if I'm ok. This was a lot to process. He told me it was only one time but it can't have been if she is pregnant. Why am I so stupid?" You begin, tears stinging in your eyes, you tried your hardest to blink them back. This wasn't the kind of conversation you wanted to be having with Chris. You liked him and surely this would be giving him bad vibes towards you.

"Your not stupid. He is the stupid one for letting you go and hurting you. Honestly babe you are amazing. More fool him. But I guess I should be thanking him." Chris replies, placing his hand on your leg in a comforting manner.

"Why should you be thanking him?"

"I'm sorry for saying it but I'm glad you caught him," you frown at him hoping there was a but in there. He notices your frown and holds up his finger. "Let me finish, if you hadn't you would never had moved here and I would never have met you."

"Nice save there Evans." You smile and take another sip of wine.

"I can be smooth sometimes although my friends would definitely say otherwise." He laughs.

Snuggling into him you rested your head on his shoulder and looked up at him.

"Thank you for tonight. I'm sorry again for being late and being like this. I'm definitely not the best date right now." You explain with sorrow in your eyes.

"Don't be so stupid. You have been amazing. I understand exactly why your feeling the way you do. Everything your going through and found out is a lot. Thank you for coming still. I'm surprised you didn't cancel on me." He explains.

"I couldn't miss out on a chance of seeing this face." You gently pinch his cheek in a joking manner and pout your lips. Then let out a little giggle.

He was so sweet. He was saying all the right things. Everything that you needed and wanted to hear. What was this? What was happening between you both?

It was too early to have a conversation like that surely. It was only a third date. Although he had spoken to his mum about you. You had told people you were on dates but you hadn't given any details.

EARLIER IN THE DAY POV CHRIS AND HIS MUM

"Chris honey I'm here." Lisa called out after swinging the door open holding huge bags of groceries.

"Ma I'm in the kitchen." He calls out.

Lisa hadn't heard her son in such a tiss before. She had been to the grocery store and collected everything he would need for the evening.

"Right where do we start?" Lisa asked. "I've brought Salmon so we can cook the herb roasted Salmon with potatoes and veg. Will that be ok?"

"Ma you are literally the best. What can I do to help?" Chris asked placing his hands on her shoulders and giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"Zest all of these into a bowl. While your doing it you can tell me all about this girl that has you losing your mind." Lisa looks at her son with raised eyebrows.

This is what he was hoping to avoid but asking his mum for help would bring on the questions.

"What do you want to know?" Chris asked hoping she wouldn't probe too much.

"What do you know? Tell me about her." Lisa asked again.

"I met her in the park. Her dog pulled her over and she cut her knee. I helped her, it kind of went from there. We had a coffee date, I took her for a meal now this is our third date." He is smiling the whole time. "She is career driven, family orientated and she is so kind. I felt so bad when she fell. Also when we went to dinner she got her card out to pay." Lisa glared at her son. "I didn't let her pay obviously. But it was just that she offered, she didn't expect it, she even offered to pay for the next date. You know how much I like that in a woman."

"Well that's good then. She sounds lovely. You've got it bad haven't you. I've never seen you look so happy talking about someone." Lisa explains while moving around the kitchen.

"I mean I, yeah I guess I do really like her. I'm worried she doesn't feel the same. She has just had a rough time of it. I don't want to push anything." Chris explains.

"What has she been through? You don't have to explain." Lisa asked confused.

"Her long term boyfriend cheated on her,  caught him with a neighbour. Then she came back here. Honestly I'm waiting for her to realise she doesn't want anything to do with me." Chris explains with a little sorrow in his eyes.

"Chris honey, she seems like she has a good head on her shoulders. Obviously what happened to her is inexcusable and I feel for her. But everything happens for a reason and I believe the day you met her was exactly what was supposed to happen." Lisa stopped what she was doing to give her son the much needed advice and a comforting smile.

"I think your right I wasn't supposed to be in town that day." Chris replied.

"Then it was definitely meant to be." Lisa smiled.

CURRENT TIME

"What's on your mind right now?" You ask Chris who is looking off into the abyss.

He snaps out of his day dream and looks at you.

"Nothing, nothing everything is fine. Want to watch a film?" Chris asks changing the subject.

"Chris be honest, I know there is something on your mind." You ask again sitting up and turning towards him.

"Honestly after what happened tonight I'm waiting for you to run in the opposite direction and realise this is a little crazy." Chris admits.

You look at him for a moment, a little shocked. He obviously was looking for more than you had even imagined. I mean he was already calling you babe. That was good sign right?

I mean a third date was always a good sign but where did you go from here? Where was this relationship heading? What did Chris want from you? More over what did you want from Chris?

"Do you want me to run?" You ask Chris not knowing if you wanted to hear the actual answer.

"I don't want you to run. Honestly I don't want to scare you away. I know you have a lot going on right now, but I like you and I'm hoping you feel the same." Chris takes a sip of his wine and then places it on the table. You do the same and then lean in to kiss him deeply on the lips.

He leans into you, kissing you back, pulling you onto his lap to straddle him. Tasting the sweet wine on his lips you flick your tongue against them and then nip gently at his lower lip. He groans at your action, which only encourages you more.

"Do you even know what you do to me?" He takes your face in his hands and then kisses you deeply again.

"I think I can tell how much I turn you on." You smirk feeling his erection grow between your legs.

"Oh you do, do you." He squeezes your waist playfully.
