Chapter Fourty Six

Jimmy finishes with his previous guest and you are ushered out of the dressing room and towards the stage by Ali. While they go for a short break you sit at the piano and take in a deep breath.

"Welcome back guys, a couple of weeks ago I showed you a video of an open mic night and the girl in the video was amazing. I've managed to get her here. Please welcome Nell."

(This is the song sung)

Once you finish the song a huge roar erupts from the audience and you stand from the piano and move to the sofa near Jimmy. He greets you with a hug and kisses you on each cheek.

"Nell welcome, thank you for being here." Jimmy says.

"Thanks for having me."

"So you wrote that song. It was beautiful. Now this came about because you played at an open mic night and someone filmed it?" Jimmy asks.

"Yes I was playing at an open mic at my parents restaurant actually, to be completely honest I wasn't sure if I was going to get up and sing but my friend encouraged, no actually he forced me up and the rest has been a whirlwind." You reply with a smile.

"Well I'm very glad your friend filmed it. Now you wrote both the songs we've heard you perform can you tell us the inspiration behind them?"

"The song from the open mic was written after a not so great break up, like many songs are and was about finding who I was after that. Tonight's song is about someone new." You smile and look towards Chris who is standing on the side of the set.

Every time you looked at Chris he grinned widely at you.

"So how did you meet the man who inspired this song?"

"Well it's a funny story actually. I had just moved back home and was ready to work on me. Like everyone does after a break up. I was running in the park with my dog, when she took a shine to his dog she yanked me over and I hurt my knee. He scooped me up and helped me. My very own super hero." You explain with a grin.

"So it was a comical meet cute?" Jimmy asked laughing at your story.

"It was. Yes. You could say that." The audience begin chattering.

"Now I had a guest here a few months back and he told us about someone new he met and it resembles your story." Jimmy says picking up on the audience.

You knew that he was trying to get you to talk about Chris.

"I guess it does resemble another guests story. I know exactly what your trying to do Jimmy." You wag your finger playfully at him.

"Me I'm not doing anything. But he is here with you and I have to confess to the audience that we have met through this person." Jimmy explains.

"We did. It was all a little strange wasn't it. Obviously lovely to meet you but a little odd and slightly surreal. Especially because I was actually here for work." You reply smiling.

"Oh god yes you were. So to explain to the audience this isn't your first vocation, your an editor and were here a little while ago with Patrick his book is soaring, congratulations on that." Jimmy explained.

"Yes he is doing so well. Thank you." You reply.

"Ok so I have to go back to your partner, your muse, are you ready to come out as a couple yet?" Jimmy asks.
