Another three weeks flew by, you kept yourself occupied washing baby clothes and packing your hospital bag. Getting everything ready for the arrival of you bundle of joy. Thankfully Chris would be home with you now until after you had the baby. Any meetings he took over zoom and via emails.
Everyone was rallying around, setting up the last bits in the nursery, changing things around the house and preparing food for when you came home from the hospital. Before you moved to Boston you couldn't imagine ever having this many loving people around you.
Your parents had always been there for you, even when you shut them out, leaving for New York and coming back as little as you could. Growing up in Boston had been difficult for you, no one ever wanted to get to know the odd girl who constantly had her nose in a book. It took you a long time to make friends, confide and trust people. But the people here had warmed your frozen heart, Chris the main reason for that. Never would you believe that you would be ready to settle down and start a family after what Nathan had done to you but here you were.
"Let's take the dogs out to the park." You said to Chris while pacing the living room floor.
"Do you think that's wise? Your just about ready to pop." Chris said surprised.
"I need to get out of this house and do not tell me to stroll around the garden. There are only so many laps of a house and garden someone can do. I need to get out. I'm fine, the due date is next week. Please." You gave him puppy dog eyes and stuck out your bottom lip.
He stood with his hands on his hips and stared at you with concern in his eyes. Fluttering your eyelashes you stepped closer making your eyes wider and lip stick out further.
"Fine but anything at all and we're heading back." Chris finally gave in with a sigh.
"Yes, come on pups walkies." You turned to Dodger and Maple who instantly got excited.
Putting on your comfy shoes and draping a sweater over your shoulders you grabbed the dogs leads.
"I don't think so babe. I will take those trouble makers. Don't need Maple pulling you over again do we." He said with a smirk, you nudged him playfully.
Waddling slowly towards the park you begin to regret your decision to want to leave the safety of the house. Perhaps this wasn't a good idea after all. Maybe you should turn back around and head back home. No you wouldn't let Chris be right and the dogs would be frustrated with the lack of walk.
"You ok?" Chris asks.
Nodding your head you conserve your energy, he lets out a small giggle and you stop in your tracks.
"What!" You scoff.
"Nothing, nothing at all. But if you want to head back we can. I will bring the dogs back out once I've got you home."
"No I am at least going to make it to the park. I will find a bench and I can watch you throw the ball for the pups. I need to see other people." You reply stubbornly.
He took you by the hand and continued the slow walk towards the park. You were determined to get there and sit in the outside air. The garden just wasn't the same.
After what felt like forever you made it to the park and found a bench to sit at. Chris good to his word took the dogs down the hill to the open field and began throwing the ball around. They chased after it and brought it back multiple times never seeming to tire from the exercise.
Since the video clip on Jimmy and outing your relationship with Chris you were recognised more and more. Some people had even asked for selfies with you and your autograph which you still couldn't quite understand. It would take you a long time before you would be used to the attention.
