Chapter Thirty Six

As the alarm rang the next morning you roll over and groan. Today you would be heading to New York on the promotional book tour with Patrick.

On the drive to the airport Chris began to get pouty. It was quite cute, you would miss him too. You enjoyed being in his company and everything felt easy.

Sitting in the car outside the terminal you leaned over and kissed Chris. He held your face in his hands and kissed you deeper. Just to let you know what you would be missing for the next few days. 

"I'll miss you." He whispers.

"Miss you already. I'll be back before you know it. Good luck with your meetings. Let me know how they go." You reply.

Getting out of the car you grab your suitcase and carry on and head into the terminal. When you arrive at the gate you sit and begin reading another manuscript.

The plane journey is short and comfortable, which helps you get through the rest of the manuscript.

When you finally arrive at the hotel all you want to do is nap but you had to meet Patrick and get ready for your first show.

Touching up your make up and changing into something smart you head down to the lobby where Patrick is waiting for you.

"Hey how was your flight?" He asks leaning in to hug you and give you a small peck on the cheek.

"It was ok. Finished another manuscript. So it was productive. How has the tour been going? All the reviews have been amazing and the books sales are going up." You tell Patrick as his eyes go wide. You and Chloe had been keeping an eye on things and communicating as often as possible. You knew they were busy and spending their down time together.

"That's good. Yeah it's been going well. Pretty gutted that Chloe had to go, not that your not a good replacement," he adds quickly. "It's just been nice to get to know her better."

"Well you only have me for a few days then Chloe will be back. It's nice that you have each other." You reply with a smile.

As you both get in the car to drive to the show for today you look at the schedule for while you are here. First stop Jimmy Fallon.

"Oh shit. I didn't realise it was Jimmy Fallon your on today." You turn to look at Patrick.

"Yeah then a radio interview this afternoon and at the library tomorrow. Is everything alright you look like you've seen a ghost?" Patrick replies.

"Yeah I'm fine. All good. Are you prepared for all the questions?" You make small talk while texting Chris.

Me-
So I will be meeting Jimmy today. That's our first stop. I didn't even realise. I'm kind of nervous. Miss you as well. X

Amazing you will love him. Tell him I said Hi. Miss you more. I'm about to head into the meeting about the book. Will let you know how it goes. Xx

"Chris is about to pitch turning the book into a movie. It's a shame its all happening at the same time. Would've been nice to be there." You tell Patrick.

"Yeah, shame hope it goes well. Would be nice to start writing a script. I've almost finished the second book so it will give me something to do." He checks his phone. "How are things with you and Chris?"

"Good we moved in together." His eyes go wide again and he looks up from his phone.

"Wow that's quick. Congratulations." Then looks back down at his phone.
