After a few of days of ignoring Jake's calls and texts and completely avoiding the restuarant you thought it was time to speak to him. You had gotten over the shock of what he said and done to you and the craziness of him turning up to your apartment. Before long he would wind up here again if you kept ignoring him.
Me-
Hey Jake maybe we should meet up for a chat. NellWhile you waited for his response you sat at the keyboard writing again. There was a lot going through your head right now. For some reason or another Chris had become a little distant and everything that happened with Jake had made you hyper alert to everything around you.
Perhaps what happened with Jake had put Chris off. The drama of your life may have been too much for him. Something that you predicted would eventually happen.
Something inside you was breaking all over again though. Chris had told you he was falling. You had told him you were falling. Maybe everything happened too quickly and he was taking a step back. Maybe you should stop reading into everything.
POV CHRIS
"Mum I don't know what to do! Nell is amazing. I've never met anyone like her. But the drama that surrounds her is maybe a little too much." Chris explains while nursing a bottle of beer.
"Chris honey, this girl seems worth it. You have come out of yourself more since you met her than ever before. Her life may have a little drama but christ you live in a dramatic life. Have you ever thought that the drama finds her and not her trying to find it?" Lisa asked. "Perhaps she wants as normal life as you do."
"I just don't know what to do. Maybe I should give her a few days to cool off. Maybe that would be best for everyone." Chris suggests.
"Honestly if you really like her I think that may be the worst thing to do. But darling you know I will support anything you decide to do." Lisa promises.
A ring of the doorbell distracts them both and Lisa stands to answer it leaving Chris moping in the kitchen, keeping an eye on the dinner.
POV BACK WITH NELL
Sitting at the keyboard writing again you think back to Chris. He hasn't called or text for the last few days. This is not what you wanted. You liked Chris, you wasn't going to drift away from him like you did with Nathan.
Grabbing your keys and Maples lead you grabbed your bag and headed to the door. But when you swung it open you were greeted by Jake.
"Nell." He said surprised.
"Jake. What, what are you doing here?" You ask confused as you hadn't heard anything back from him.
"You said you wanted to talk. I thought I would just pop round." Jake explained.
Realistically after what happened you wanted to be somewhere in the open. Somewhere busy and a little less intimate. Somewhere that he wouldn't have the chance to hurt or raise his voice to you again.
"I guess you should come in then. I don't have long I was just heading out." You explain walking back into the apartment.
"I just really want to apologise for my actions Sunday. It isn't me. It wasn't me. I don't have any excuse I acted like a jackass and I am so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you." Jake explained.
