-NoneGeorge's POV
Clay and Sapnap walked to me as I stood in the water and I caught Clay glancing down at my chest again. I blushed and he looked back up, acting like nothing happened. Clay stood next to me in the water and smiled as he walked more to the deeper part of the sea.
When the water was just above his waist, he smiled at me and asked me to come to him. I started walking there and the water came to my chest when I was at the same height as him.
'Aww, you're so short,' Clay giggled.
'I'm average,' I said as I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms in annoyance.
'Sure, I'll totally believe that. You're adorable when you're this short,' Clay said as his face heated up fully. He looked behind me and I turned around to see Sapnap standing. He immediately put his lifted hands down, I didn't know what they were doing, but Clay seemed a bit more secure after it.
He smiled at me and grabbed my hand. 'I can carry you if you want?' he giggled. I noticed him being serious as well, only in a joking way.
I got really red and looked away as Clay was red as well. He turned around to swim off and I was left with Sapnap. Sapnap tapped my shoulder and I turned around with a loud sigh.
'Do I like him?' I muttered.
'What? I don't know, what makes you think that you do?'
I shrugged. 'It's all really new to me. I've never liked a boy, but I feel different around Clay. I just don't know how love feels.'
'You're attracted to him, you want to be together with him. Maybe you think about him a lot.'
I sighed. 'I just don't know. Would it be bad if I liked him? He's my best friend, wouldn't that be really weird?'
'You can't change who you like and if you like Clay, then you like him.'
'What do I do then?'
'Be a bit flirty.'
'I really don't have the courage to,' I muttered.
'That's fine, just be yourself around him. He will fall in love if he likes the real you. He won't like you when you act completely different than you actually are.'
I sighed deeply and nodded. I started walking back to Clay and swam the last part to him as he was also swimming around. He smiled as he saw me and started splashing water at me to tease me. I did the same back to him as both our cheeks heated up a bit.
Clay was giggling a bit and after a while of constantly splashing water at each other and swimming for a bit, we went back to the beach itself. We laid down on the towels in the sand and Sapnap stood up after he had laid down for twenty minutes.
'I took some money with me, do you want me to buy you all some ice cream?'
I smiled. 'I can pay for it myself too, because I have money with me as well. I will buy Clay ice cream if he wants some.'
'I would like some, but I don't want you to buy it for me,' Clay muttered as he stared at his hands awkwardly. 'I don't want you to buy everything for me. I think I have five pounds in total, I can buy ice cream with that.'
'Don't you dare, I'm not going to let you spend the only money you have when George and I have enough to buy it for you.'
Clay sighed softly. 'I don't want you to pay everything for me.'
'But you need a bit more help with that and it's totally fine. We both don't mind at all.'
I nodded as well. 'I really don't care if I pay a bit more just to make you happy.'
Clay sighed. 'Fine, but only if you actually don't mind.'
'I don't,' Sapnap said. He grabbed his wallet after asking what tastes we wanted. I gave him some of my money as well and he walked off.
Clay was staring in front of him as he had a sad look in his eyes. 'I'm sorry for being poor,' he muttered. 'I'm not trying to get things off of you, I'm actually poor.'
'It's totally fine and I don't want you to apologise for something like this. You can't change anything about it and it's also not your fault. I love to help you and I don't mind spending a bit extra for you. I like to make you happy with small things.'
Clay smiled and looked at his body. 'Am I too thin? I haven't had full meals for months before you came here.'
'You're a bit thin, but you still look perfect,' I muttered a bit shyly. My cheeks heated up as I complimented him for the first time. I hoped I didn't make him awkward so I looked up at him as I saw his cheeks were pink.
'Do you mean that?'
I nodded and looked away when I saw Sapnap coming closer. I didn't want to get caught staring again and I didn't want Sapnap to know I told Clay I found him perfect. He would only tease us and realise I was actually falling in love with Clay.
I didn't want to fall in love and I didn't know for sure I was in love yet, but I knew that I liked him as more than just my best friend. My heart was always beating faster when I was with him and I sometimes wanted to cuddle with him, just as we did yesterday night.
Sapnap handed us our ice cream and I sat up a bit, enjoying the sun on my body as I slowly ate it. Clay was enjoying a lot too and that made me only more happy. He was having a hard time and as soon as he smiled, I smiled too. He was the best friend I could wish for and even though I maybe had feelings for him, I still never wanted to lose him as my friend.
