Clay's POV

George stayed with me 'till dinner time and he made some pasta for us so I would feel full after a day of barely any food. He didn't eat with us so we would have more and left to go home to pack some of his bags.

I was sitting down at the table, eating a normal meal after a very long time. My mum sometimes smiled at me and then sighed.

'I'm so sorry to leave you alone, Clay. We have actually ran out of money and I can't pay for food and the apartment anymore. I'm so sorry, I feel terrible.'

I smiled and grabbed her hand. 'Mom, it's fine. I understand it and my friends will be here with me. I won't be alone,' I said as I took a bite of my pasta after that.

My mum had tears in her eyes. 'It's just unfair,' she muttered. 'Dad left and I felt terrible for you already and now I'm going to work.'

'Dad left before I was born, mom. I never knew him and I've never even spoken to him. It wasn't your fault that he left, he was just being a selfish idiot. You are constantly working to help me go to school and have food, you're even neglecting yourself for it. I don't want you to ever say something like that again, because you aren't like that dumbass at all.'

My mother smiled. 'I wish he wouldn't have left me and-.'

'Mom, he was a dick. He left you because you were pregnant with me. He was just as involved in that and it was his fault as well.'

'But I was just twenty, it was my fault.'

'So? He was nineteen and agreed with it. It might have not gone as planned, but he should have been a man and not a pussy.'

'I don't want to make it seem like you are a mistake,' my mum whispered with tears in his eyes. 'You're the greatest present to me.'

'I know, mom. I know you don't see it like that and I love you. I will never blame you for anything that happened, only that dumbass. I don't even want to call him dad, he's an asshole.'

My mum sniffed as she wiped a tear away. 'Thank you for being such an amazing boy. I'm so proud that you're my son. I hope you learnt from me, please don't do things with girls when you're not ready for the outcome of it.'

I nodded slowly, staring at my hands. I was debating on telling her that I liked boys way more than girls, but I didn't have the courage to. I didn't want to give her even more stress for if she would be disappointed in me. At least I was sure I wouldn't suddenly get a kid. If I would ever do that within a few years, it would be with a boy.

I smiled as I looked up again. 'I know, mom. I won't do things like that and if I do, I will be safe. Don't worry.'

I finished my plate of pasta and so did my mum. 'Do you want me to wash the plates?' I asked.

'No, sweetie. You can go upstairs. Where are you going to let George and Sapnap sleep? We only have two rooms.'

'Probably just in my room. I guess I will share a bed with one of them and the other can lay down on a mattress or something. I will call them to ask them if they can bring stuff since we don't really have anything like that, do we?'

'We don't, I'm sorry.'

'Stop apologising, it's fine. I understand it, it would be dumb to spend our money on things like that.'

'Okay, thank you,' my mother said with a smile. She started washing the plates and I ran upstairs to call George and Sapnap.

They immediately accepted my call and I heard Sapnap panting. 'Dude, I've been packing my bags like crazy,' he said as he laughed after. 'What's up?'

'So, we only have two rooms and someone could sleep next to me in my bed, but then someone else would have to sleep on a mattress.'

'That's fine, I'll go on an air mattress,' Sapnap said. 'I have one at home. You would have to share a bed with George then.'

I noticed myself getting a bit nervous. I didn't mind it, but it still made me a bit flustered. I didn't exactly know why it did. George giggled nervously and then nodded his head. I smiled at him and took a deep breath.

'I'm fine with that,' I said as I noticed my cheeks beating up a bit.

'I'm fine with it as well,' George said as he smiled.

Sapnap grinned and rolled his eyes. 'I don't want to be in your room when you're making out, so please keep it down as long as I'm there.'

'Dude, shut up,' I wheezed. 'I don't like him like that.'

'Me neither,' George added.

'Pfft, sure. If you two don't like each other then I'm not single anymore.'

I wheezed and rolled my eyes. 'You're so dumb, but fine. Who is the lucky one? I'm not in love with George so I guess you are in a relationship now.'

Sapnap sighed dramatically. 'I'll let you two believe what you want. Anyway, I'm going to pack my bags and I'll get the air mattress so I don't have to sleep on the ground. I can always move my mattress to another room if you guys randomly start making out.'

'We aren't going to make out, shut up,' I grinned. 'You're so annoying.'

'I'm being respectful. I will leave you alone to make out. I'm being a good friend here so you shouldn't be complaining.'

George was just giggling and I rolled my eyes again. 'You're actually so dumb. I'm going to kick you once you're here.'

'I'm going to pack again, idiot,' Sapnap said.

He left the call and I was left with George. He smiled at me. 'Did you enjoy the pasta?'

'It was amazing, thank you a lot.'

'No problem, I'll do anything to make you happy.'
