Since my younger twin siblings had to be in the car as well, I had to sit closely next to Clay. We ended up secretly holding hands as my little brother started giggling. My sister looked up at us as well and they both laughed softly.
'You are holding hands.'
I immediately pulled away and sat up awkwardly as my siblings started teasing my red face.
'Do you like each other?'
'Shut up,' I muttered. 'You're annoying.'
They just laughed at us and the rest of the next hours passed by incredibly quickly since I was this close to Clay all the time. I loved being with him and I was falling harder for him each day. It was late that day when we arrived at the place we were supposed to be at and Clay was exhausted.
We went to go to our room and since Clay wasn't supposed to come with us, we would have to share a room and a bed. We only had three rooms with three double beds. My parents shared a bedroom, my siblings shared a bedroom and I would share one with Clay.
As we had carried all our bags inside, Clay looked at me with a shy look on his face. 'I'm very tired, is it rude to sleep 'till dinner?'
'It's not rude, I'm going to lay down too.'
Clay nodded and we went upstairs together. I snuck away so my parents wouldn't notice us going away together, I didn't want them to suspect I was gay or anything.
Clay and I went to our room and laid down on the bed. 'My dad is going to make the beds later today, for now we have to lay down on a mattress without sheets. Luckily it's pretty warm outside,' I said with a smile as I curled myself up like a ball.
Clay nodded and smiled too. 'I'm a little bit cold if I'm honest,' he muttered.
'You're beautiful, but a bit thin. That might be it.'
Clay nodded slowly and I looked at him shyly. 'We can cuddle?'
His cheeks filled with a dark red blush and I giggled shyly. Clay rolled more to me and opened his arms to pull me closer as I was still curled up like a ball. He let me rest my head against his chest just as my knees and he had his arms wrapped around my back, running one of his hands through my hair.
I closed my eyes as he softly ran his hand through my hair to make me comfortable. I noticed myself dozing off within ten minutes. Clay had fallen asleep before me, noticeable by his steady and louder breathing rhythm.
Clay and I both slept for a few hours, until we got woken up by someone talking to us. I rubbed my eyes and slowly opened them to see my dad standing in our room with a smile.
I immediately pulled away from Clay's and my hug with a red and awkward face. 'Uh- hi?'
My dad smiled even brighter as he saw our awkward faces and laughed. 'I was calling you for dinner.'
I nodded slowly and stood up as Clay did the same. He was nervously wiping his sweaty hands off on his sweats and didn't say anything as he looked to the ground.
'It's fine, boys. Don't be ashamed or anything, you can cuddle all you want.'
I wanted to make up a whole defence for me not being gay, but my dad shook his head. 'Don't apologise, don't defend yourself. It's totally fine.'
I smiled and Clay dared to look up again. We went downstairs after my dad and sat down at the dinner table. My mum served us all food and my siblings were fighting with each other. One of them had some childish toy and the other one wanted it as well.
'Be quiet, guys,' my dad said. 'Lay it down, we are going to eat now.'
They listened to what he said and laid their toy away to have dinner. While having dinner, I secretly stared at Clay in the corner of my eyes. I felt my stomach fill up with butterflies as I started imagining his lips to be on mine.
I got so lost in the moment that I forgot to eat. I forgot that my parents could easily catch me stare at Clay and Clay himself could see it too.
I kept staring as long as I felt a hand on my leg, softly squeezing it. I got startled and looked up to see Clay smile at me. He didn't say anything, but pointed at my food.
My face got incredibly red as I started eating again, noticing that my parents were also looking at me now. Luckily they looked away after just a few minutes and dinner was over after ten more minutes.
Clay went back upstairs and my parents called me back when I wanted to go upstairs too.
'George, I'm not going to ask you anything, but I want you to be comfortable. Do you want to remember that we always love you no matter what?'
I smiled. 'Thank you, I had a question,' I said to quickly avoid the subject.
'Yes?'
'I want to surprise Clay with a laptop and Minecraft for it. I was wondering if I'm allowed to buy one. I got some money from Sapnap I have some myself as well.'
'Of course, honey. That would be amazing to do for him,' my mother said with a smile. 'He deserves that. Do you know how his mother is?'
'She only got four hundred pounds in this week of working all day.'
'I'm going to try to let her let me pay the rent for their apartment next month,' my dad said. 'She might not accept it, but I'm going to try at least. They barely have food and we have enough to help them out for a little.'
I smiled. 'I want them to be happy,' I said with a blush on my face. I turned around quickly to go upstairs to Clay again.
