"Hyewon, I..." he struggles to say something, his voice cracking a little bit.
"I don't see Jake anything more than a friend. That's the last time I'll say it." I quickly wipe my tears.
"You got your answer. You should go." I gulp, a huge lump in my throat.
"Hyewon..." he mumbles sadly.
"I don't want to argue with you anymore, Jungwon. We're done and we shouldn't argue about anything, anymore. Please don't come to me and accuse me of things that aren't true. I'm tired of arguing with you. It hurts too much." I wipe away some more tears on my face with my sleeve.
"Worry about yourself, and I'll worry about me." I finish.
"I'm sorry." He whispers, his eyes becoming glassy.
"I'll go now. I'm sorry, again." He says, putting on his shoes and leaving.
I sink onto the couch, immediately sobbing once I locked the door. Clutching onto my chest, the pain was unbearable.
JIHYUN POV
The guys and I were at Sunoo's house today, hanging out since he invited us. Jungwon wasn't here with us, until we hear banging on the door. Riki going up to get it, we all watch in our seats to see who it was. Jungwon, of course.
His face gloomy and dark, he walks over to us and stands right in front of Jake. Jake looks up at him with confusion.
Jungwon looking absolutely pissed off, he doesn't even greet any of us.
"Are you and Hyewon a thing?" Jungwon bluntly asks him.
Jake scoffs a little, clearly taken aback.
Oh gosh, this is not the place for any of this..
"No," Jake laughs. "We aren't a thing."
I look at Jake and he's turning red. His ears are a bright pink and so are his cheeks, and this absolutely drove Jungwon crazy. This is what set him off.
"You're blushing. If you guys weren't a thing, you wouldn't be blushing right now. Just tell me if you guys are a thing. Don't lie to me." Jungwon sharply says.
"Dude, Jungwon.. we aren't a thing. What's wrong with you?" Jake nervously chuckles.
"Do you like her, then?" Jungwon asks him.
"No. I don't like Hyewon. Bro, what's up with you-"
"I saw you guys at the party. If you didn't like her, you wouldn't have let her press up against you while you were blushing. Stop lying to me and just be honest, hyung!" Jungwon's voice raises.
Jake's kind, warm smile fades into a gloomy, serious expression.
"I don't like her. Gosh, what's wrong with you? You just barge into someone else's house and start accusing me of something I already confirmed isn't true? What's up with you, Jungwon?"
Jake tried putting his hand on Jungwon's shoulder, but Jungwon pushes him away quickly. Some of the guys immediately get up and stand in the middle of them. Riki and Sunoo sat still, worried frowns on their faces. Riki was scared out of his mind and Sunoo looked like he was about to cry.
"Woah, woah, woah.. what's going on here? What's up with you two?" Heeseung awkwardly and nervously giggles, looking at the two.
Jake, by this point, is also pissed off.
"You're a liar, hyung. I know you like her! Just admit it. Admit it already and I'll stop fussing. Stop lying to me. It's obvious you like her." Jungwon's voice becomes a little desperate, while getting more angry.
"Jungwon, please calm down. We can talk about this peacefully, okay?" Jake says.
"Just tell me!" Jungwon shouts. "You're a liar. You're the biggest liar ever, hyung."
Jake couldn't control himself anymore and he let his annoyance get the best of him, finally snapping.
"I'M the liar, Jungwon? I really wasn't trying to argue with you because you're my little brother, but YOU out of all people shouldn't be calling me a liar." Jake spits out.
"Whether or not I like Hyewon, it's none of your business. YOU'RE the one who lied to her about a bunch of things, got her hopes up, left her, and made her depressed. But still, I'm the liar? Didn't you tell her you were going to make her your girlfriend? What happened, huh? Why aren't you guys together right now? Oh right, because you lied to her and left her!" Jake yells.
The two of them getting more heated, I quietly tell Riki and Sunoo to sit in the kitchen and they listen to me.
"Come on, guys. We don't need to talk like this. We can talk like normal human beings-" Heeseung gets interrupted by Jungwon.
"What do you know, hyung?! Why are you suddenly so interested in her, huh?! Didn't she break up with you in 10th grade? Now suddenly you guys talk again and you're close? What the heck do you know!!" Jungwon jumps towards Jake, but Jay holds him back.
"Come on, guys. Let's calm down. We're at Sunoo's house, this isn't necessary." Jay chuckles nervously.
"Didn't you leave her without saying goodbye when you were kids? Don't say a word right now, Jungwon. You're the biggest hypocrite."
"Jungwon, Jake, let's stop this-" I step towards them, but Sunghoon steps in front of me and looks at me with a serious face.
"Don't, Jihyun." He whispers to me, making me stay in the kitchen with Riki and Sunoo.
"You're the one who left her. I don't know why you're so bothered about her. You shouldn't even care. Just mind your own business, dude. Stop calling me a liar when you're the one who lied straight to her face!" Jake lunges forward, trying to get at Jungwon, but gets pulled back forcibly by Heeseung.
"Screw you, hyung. Screw you. You knew how much I liked her yet you're still doing this. We all know you like her. Just admit it." Jungwon glares at him.
"So what if I like her? Maybe I do like Hyewon. What's it to you? I'm positive I would never lie to her the way you did." Jake remarks.
Oh my gosh.... This is not happening.
Hyewon, you're drop dead gorgeous, but I don't think two best friends should be fighting like this over you.
"Guys. Please stop it. You guys can talk it out like grown people. Stop trying to kill each other." Sunghoon frowns.
"Tell that to him, Sunghoon! He's the one barging into a house that's not even his, starting stuff with me, and accusing me of dumb things!" Jake yells.
"Shut up, hyung." Jungwon scoffs.
"Don't talk to me like that!" Jake tries to lunge forward again, but gets pushed down onto the couch by Heeseung.
"Whatever. Screw you. You're not even my hyung, anymore. You certainly don't feel like one to me right now." Jungwon remarks, storming out the house.
Oh... my... gosh...
What just happened?
