Chapter 17: Closing distance. When everything in your world is dark and grey, a tiny light that shines its way in through that small hole scares you because it means too much.
It's all in Jimin's head. Things that happened to Jimin today may not be a big deal for others, but for Jimin, it's a lot. He's not used to someone saying or implying that they like him. He cut the chance of them talking to him in the first place. Jungkook happened to slip in using friendship and that fucking bet. Jimin should have been more careful.
Why would Jungkook like someone like Jimin?
If what he said was real, why would he want to take care of him?
Jungkook is angry. So angry. His eyes turn dark on his way out of the building, but suddenly something in him doesn't let him leave. Not until he gets some sort of closure.
Therefore, here he is. Back in front of Jimin's door. Jimin needs to talk to him. After a while, the door finally opens for Jungkook to see Jimin in his pajamas. Jimin is wearing a white v-neck oversized t-shirt that covers his milky thighs, and a pair of shorts that doesn't reach his mid thigh. Rosy cheeks and damp hair are not helping. He seems to forget his anger for a second.
"Please go home hyung. The landlord called me about your knocking." Jimin says.
"No. Not until you explain your actions earlier." Jungkook's eyes turn dark again.
"It's not a big deal. I made it clear. I hope you understand." Jimin is about to close the door, but Jungkook steps further making Jimin step back.
"You're making it a big deal. Did you really have to overreact and be rude shutting the door like that? " Jungkook is now successfully entered the room. His eyes are still dark, towering at the smaller figure in front of him.
"I'm sorry." Jimin says as he tries to step back further away as much as possible.
"Don't say sorry. Just talk to me."
"There's nothing to talk about."
"What line am I crossing exactly? I was just being nice to you." Jungkook kept walking further, and now Jimin's back hit the kitchen counter. Jungkook's both arms suddenly cage Jimin.
"You were being too nice. What's so hard to understand when I asked you to stop?" Jimin looks back at Jungkook.
"Because I don't understand what the problem is? What's wrong about someone treating you right? The way you deserve it. Seems like you're not used to that." Jungkook raises his voice a little, trying to push Jimin's button, but Jimin doesn't flinch.
"Move. You're getting too close." And Jungkook is not moving one bit.
"So now you're defending yourself? Look Jimin, I didn't even try to flirt or ask you out yet. What's the big deal?"
"Good. Don't do that. I wouldn't dare to think you would like me that way. I'll be in the friendzone. You should be in there too."
Jungkook is not getting it. This feels like he's solving the most complicated puzzle ever.
"Don't tell me what to do. I'll do whatever I want. If I want to be nice and take care of you, I will."
"I said don't. Don't do something like taking the blame on yourself and defending me, keeping me company, letting me win so I can eat more, visiting group 7 to check on me, cheering me up about my work, taking me in your group 14 risking being fired from being a team captain, asking me to go for coffee or getting me rice cooker." Jimin raises his voice.
