Chapter 54: Worth fighting for?
"Jungkook! You're home!" Yuna and Yuri run out from Jeon house. "It's been so long. We've missed you."
"I've missed you guys too." Jungkook says with a light smile as he takes his luggages from his car.
"You're staying for how long this time?" Yuna asks, excitedly.
"For the whole break. I guess. All the exams are over. I'll talk to you guys later. Woonyoung uncle is waiting for me." Jungkook informs before he walks inside with his luggages.
Walking past his mom's big photo frame, Jungkook lets out a sigh. The photo now only reminds him of all the things that have been happening. Jungkook will do anything to make sure everyone that caused his mother's death is eventually punished even if he can't do anything right now. He's ready to give up anything just to make it happen even if it would mean giving up someone who lights up his heart and makes it warm.
"Jungkook, you're finally here." Wooyoung sits in his living room.
"Yeah, finally."
"Did you forget to mention that he's late by one week? We told him to come home one week ago."
Jungkook turns his head to the owner of the voice. "Yunho hyung? You're home too. For your information, I just finished my exams. That's why I couldn't come."
"It's not taking that much time, and your campus is just an hour from here."
Yunho uncle is right. It's true, but what he doesn't know is how Jungkook was struggling to focus on his exams and classes. Jungkook spent his nights at Yugyeom to study and work on his assignments. It's not how loud Yugyeom's apartment has been all the time, but it's simply because he was trying so hard to focus on the textbooks in front of him instead of that one specific apartment where Jimin lives. "I had to focus."
"You had to focus, or you just did not want to stay away from that Park b-"
"I ended things with him." Jungkook utters, and the room goes quiet as Jungkook is staring right at his uncle who's raising his eyebrows.
"You did?" Wooyoung asks, tilting his head.
"Good, then." Yunho clears his throat, trying not to slip his surprise expression.
"Can we please talk about what you guys called me for?" Jungkook also tries to hide being irritated.
"Yes, we can." Wooyoung says. "How are you?"
"That's all? You called me home just to ask how I am?" Jungkook frowns.
"Calm down, Jungkook." Wooyoung says. "That's an important question. We haven't got a chance to talk about how you are. You know ever since you figured out the truth about Park Minjung and Park Jimin."
