Chapter 65: When jealousy works too well
Making Jimin jealous might work? That's what Jungkook assumed because the times Jimin finally cursed or reacted to him are girls related. It was his plan to make Jimin jealous, but it's no longer a good idea. He doesn't plan on doing that anymore. The first time about that presentation with Ji-eun, Jimin was being mildly angry, but this other time, Jungkook has learned that his one smirk to a random girl can break glasses. He's not sure what it can do the next time.
Actually, many other things are more than glasses. Glasses broken, glass full of water being flipped, slippers being thrown, a bowl of soup being dumped and Jungkook being called an asshole, twice. This doesn't count phrases and sentences that are becoming Jungkook's favorite. 'Fuck off.', 'Leave me the fuck alone.', 'Get the fuck out of my face.' and 'Fucking mind your own business.' Liking how Jimin makes effort to say 'fuck' in most of the sentences he talk to Jungkook.
'Fuck' has become Jungkook's favorite words.
Call him crazy, but only Jimin's reactions can make him feel like he exists. Call it unhealthy, to feel relieved when Jimin wants to hurt him back. Jungkook is totally up for it.
"What are you smiling about?" Namjoon asks, catching up with Jungkook's pace from behind.
"Oh, hey, hyung." Jungkook greets with a gentle smile on his face.
"What makes you so happy?"
"Jimin is so angry." Jungkook says. A smile is not fading from his face.
"And you're happy?"
"I'm still far from being happy, but still. This is progress." Jungkook explains.
"Whatever you're doing, don't hurt him. I honestly think that you should give him the space he asked for." Namjoon, who had the whole conversation with Jin, thinks he should somehow say something to his younger friend he thinks of as a brother.
"I've already hurt him too much. I know, but no. No space. It won't solve anything in this case."
Namjoon lets out a sigh. "You know We're here. Whatever it is that has been going on. Me and Yoongi hate you for not telling us anything and what you've done for Jimin, but you need to know that we're here. You don't need to be alone."
"I know." Jungkook frowns. Somehow, Namjoon's words create some tense feeling in his chest. He wants to share everything so badly, but he can't. The fact that it's so painful that his mom's incident was caused by Jimin's mom. The fact that he's trying his best to forgive the lady, so he can continue to hold on to Jimin. The fact that Jungkook is willing to give up on revenge and keep all the pain to himself. Too much has been going on, and it's too painful to talk about or even to think about it.
The only thing that will comfort him is Jimin's whole presence back in his arms. That's the only thing that would chase the pain away.
"Let's go back to the table." Not responding to whatever Namjoon mentioned, not caring that Namjoon is heading in a different direction probably to get his food, Jungkook starts walking ahead. He almost forgets that he has to get a bottle of water for Jimin's afternoon class. Jungkook makes sure to get the one that's room temperature before he finally walks back to the table. "Jimin, I've got you some water." He greets the younger one who's barely eating his food with Jin and Taehyung sitting with him.
Jimin just looks at Jungkook before he grabs the bottle and throws it on the floor. Jin and Taehyung look at each other. They glance at Jimin and Jungkook, back and forth. "So, what were you saying before you were interrupted?"
