3rd Person POV:
Yelena started training as an assassin at the age of six. Somehow, Dreykov was able to successfully manipulate her at that age. Using a new type of psychological control. A version better than what they were doing with previous widows. Because of that, Yelena was more skilled and smart than the other widows, but like what Dreykov always say, she will never be as good as the best widow ever trained in the Red Room.
She will never be as good as Natalia Romanova.
Even if Yelena made sure her missions were always a success, she's still being compared to her. Sure, she was able to take down powerful men and women without being identified but it was never enough to impress Dreykov. He always mention how Natasha was such a waste for going West. If she stayed as his own widow, they would've taken over the world, using what Dreykov knows best...
Fear and control.

"The mission was a success, sir." Yelena reported.
"You're dismissed." Dreykov responded.
Yelena's fists tightened as her frustration grew even more for him. He didn't even have the nerve to glance at her. Instead, he just looked out the window. Not even much of a 'thank you' or a 'job well done' to acknowledge her.
Yelena just came from a very dangerous mission and she could have easily lost her life if she did not critically planned it out. But that was not important to him at all. The most important thing was to get the job done.
She exited Dreykov's office and made her way to her room. She's a privileged widow since she has her own assigned room. Most widows sleep in bunk beds in a big room. But since, she was a higher ranking widow in the red room, she had privileges that the other widows don't have.
She slammed the door and started punching the metal walls then she threw her stuff from the table to the floor.
"Bud' ty proklyat (Damn you), Romanova!" she grunts.
Her hate for Natasha was out of this world because she's constantly being compared to her. She was able to see how she worked in the Red Room before. But she never got the chance to work directly with her since Natasha was one of the highest ranking widow before she betrayed Dreykov to work for SHIELD.
She stared at Natasha's picture posted on her wall. She placed it there to use it as her motivation to not just be like her but to be a better version of the widow she used to be. The only one labeled as 'the most ferocious Black Widow'.
After all, she was the only widow who was able to escape the tortures of the Red Room and the wrath of Dreykov.
"One day, you will meet me and I will make sure that I will get my hands on you." she swore, punching the wall over and over again, without a care that her fists were bleeding so much already.

"Are you ready, my child?" Dreykov asked as he brushes his hand on Yelena's cheek.
"If this is what's going to make me stronger and better, do it." Yelena consented.
Melina injected what probably was her thousandth prototype serum for mind control in Yelena's neck. Normally, these experiments are ran on other widows after it's being tested on animals. But this time, Yelena forced Dreykov to let her do it because Melina mentioned that this formula is the most promising one.
In just a few seconds, Yelena's eyes dilated then transitioned into blue then quickly switched back to brown. As the serum spreads in her brain, a sharp pain will be felt all throughout her body to where her nervous system is located. Her body started to twitch badly, loosening her arm and leg straps.
