Chapter 40: The Damned Ones

3rd Person POV:

After Wanda has foreseen the dangers and new problems that are about to arise, she and Natasha made their way to the mutants building. Both of them looked in horror as a massive dark portal has been floating under the building that disintegrated the roof and left only half of the building.

SHIELD guards along with the other mutants ran outside to see what they can do about the situation that's floating above them. But all they could do is stare at it in fear and panic.

"What the fuck is happening?" Fury questioned as he stepped down from his chopper with Maria Hill following him.

"Wanda saw that Magneto is coming with another being that's definitely gonna wreak havoc in this universe. He also has the Infinity Gauntlet." Natasha explained.

"The what? How the hell did he get it?" Fury furiously asked.

"He apparently switched it with a fake but almost real looking copy of the gauntlet from the SHIELD vault more than a week ago. I was able to retrieve deleted footage from our surveillance cameras while we're in the air, sir." Maria responded.

"Somebody tell me how this motherfucker got into our vault without being detected!" Fury raged.

"No one knows, sir. But I strongly believe that it has something to do with his powers." the deputy officer responded.

"I'm sick of these wars! It wasn't long since we finished one, did we?!" Fury fumed, his one eye gauging in anger.

Fury commanded all SHIELD soldiers to fall in line and to get ready with their most powerful weapons to prepare for yet another massive battle. He also has alerted every single Avenger who are not there to get on a Quinjet so they can quickly fly back to the compound which would still take a lot longer to arrive than what they needed them to be.

Wanda flew towards Lorna to question her about the portal that opened up. Assuming that it was her and her friends fault to why a destructive portal has opened up again in their new home.

"Lorna, what the fuck did you do?!" Wanda questioned as she landed in front of her.

"We didn't do shit, Wanda. The stabilizer we were trying build is barely done. That portal just showed up out of nowhere and it grew bigger by the second that none of us was able to stop it. It destroyed everything we have built and worked hard for." Lorna defended.

"Well, we have to do something about it then. My vision was right. That portal was opened by Magneto and he has the Infinity Gauntlet and he's not alone." Wanda informed.

"What do you mean he's not alone?" Lorna asked, her eyes were filled with fear.

"He has awoken a powerful witch. I read about her in the Darkhold. Her name is... Agatha. Agatha Harkness." Wanda replied, her voice started to shudder as she muttered the witch's name.

"I--, this was not what I thought he would do when he said he has a big plan for all of us." Lorna trembled in fear.

The portal was growing bigger and somehow, it's swallowing everything that it can cover. No weapons of SHIELD could contain nor stop it. Tony Stark arrived first at the scene and has suited up right away. Along with Rhodes, Bruce and the Vision. All mutants are being ordered by Lorna, John and Marcos for them to prepare themselves for what's coming.

"This... this witch along with the Infinity Gauntlet is too powerful for us to defeat. We need all hands on deck, Fury. We need all the help we can get." Wanda warned.

"I've been preparing myself for this one, Maximoff. I had agents sent around the world to have them come back with these enhanced individuals. I just didn't think we'd need them this soon." Fury smirked. "Agent Hill, show 'em what we got." he added.
