Wanda's POV:

Trauma came back once again to haunt me. That meeting with Ross made my guilt surface as well. I made my way outside the compound to get an escape from the team and Nat. I love her but what she said cut deep. The only thing that helped me gain peace with Pietro's passing was knowing the fact that he died as a hero and Nat pointing out that it doesn't matter to anyone just hurts so much.

I heard them from afar calling out my name as they try to find me. I just flew even farther away from the compound, finding myself in the middle of the woods. I found a field of grass and flowers and I decided to just lay there for a while.

There's something about watching the flowers sway with the wind that gave me some sort of calmness and I was able to close my eyes for a little while.

-- 9 hours later... --

I opened my eyes with a sudden panic that rushed through me. It was so dark out and it was insanely cold. I stood up from the field I was laying on and started walking to wake myself up before I can fly back home.

Suddenly, I heard this rustling sounds coming from the bushes and my heart started beating fast. I darted my hand to the bush and shot it with my powers.

"Motherfucker!" I heard a very familiar voice scream.

My eyes widened as I realized who it was.

"Yelena??" I gasped. "What on earth are you doing in there?" I asked as I grabbed her hand to help her stand up.

"Finding you, dumbass." she replied as she grunts while clutching her stomach.

"I'm sorry." I said.

"Where the fuck have you been?" she questioned.

"Just.. here." I responded.

"You've been missing for almost 10 hours and you're telling me that you have only been laying out here in this field?" she probed.

"Sounds about right."

"Wanda, Nat has been crazy worried about you. Her anxiety turned into panic then turned into paranoia." she informed me.

"Holy shit."

"Yeah. Holy shit. She went on a downward spiral for the last 10 fucking hours. She literally thought you broke up with her and that you ran away." she added.

"Oh my god. I.. I didn't mean to-- that wasn't--" I stuttered, not knowing where to start.

"Yeah, yeah. I know. C'mon we better go." she instructed and I just nodded.

I followed her out of the woods and we got out to a highway. I saw a motorcycle parked at the side. Yelena approached it and handed me a helmet. I just shot her a look because I didn't want to ride it.

"I'm not gonna let you fly alone. I can't trust you right now. You're kind of a flight risk." she said, understanding what I meant.

"Fine." I replied and took the helmet to place it on my head.

"Hold on tight." she instructed.

I got on the bike then I wrapped my arms around her waist. Yelena revved the bike for a few seconds before we took off. The speed was giving me this adrenaline rush that I am starting to love. It also felt familiar, then it hit me, the speed and the adrenaline feeling reminded me of Pietro. Tears started to escape my eyes followed by a sniffle on my nose.

"You alright, Maximoff?" Yelena asked, startling me. I didn't know that the helmets have comms connected to each other.

"Yeah. Why?" I replied after a few seconds.
