Chapter 37: All The Possibilities

Wanda's POV:

When Nat and I arrived at the compound, Yelena and Maria were already there. It wasn't even an hour when we arrived but Nat and Maria took off immediately for their mission. Yelena was also assigned to a mission back in Budapest because she was needed by the widows they freed. I was left alone at the compound with no mission since my powers weren't needed.

Steve, Bucky and Sam were still in London and are yet to come home. And that's the same for Tony who's still on hiatus because of his honeymoon with Pepper. Rhodes is also busy with back to back meetings with the government while Vision and Bruce were in the lab 24/7. I felt like I was not productive as the others but I guess, I'll just have to take this opportunity to bond with Pietro.

I made my way to their building which technically, should be my section too because it's for mutants but I guess, knowing that they're all from a different universe is enough to set them apart from us.

"Hey, sis! Haven't seen you in days." Pietro said as he ran to me in just a blink of an eye.

"Yeah. Nat and I took a short break." I replied.

"I heard. Anyway, everyone is busy here." he said.

"I can see that." I commented.

As I walked in, they were busy as bees. Buzzing and walking around everywhere. The atmosphere was totally different from what we have at the Avenger's building. There were mutants practicing their powers, others are building stuff and portals opening everywhere, from one place to another.

"Whoa. There's a lot going on here." I implied.

"I know. They really are serious with their own mission here." he said.

"Which is?"

"They wanted to move to this planet they found. They named it as Earth-238. They wanted a habitable planet for all mutants to where they could be themselves and not be profusely hunted by the government. Did you know most of them are in jail just because they used their powers by accident?" he said.

"Wow. That's harsh. I guess I never really thought how regular humans would react to us, enhanced individuals. Are you also going to move to their planet?" I asked.

"No. Mama and Baba are waiting for me, actually." he replied.

"Oh. Then why are you still here?" I probed.

"I have my own mission." he said.

"And that is?"

"It has been years since we lost you, Wanda. When Max came to my universe to let me know that I have a chance to see you again, I didn't hesitate to say yes. I wanted to come see you and I was hoping that maybe you'd come home with me. That's my mission." he hinted.

"What?"

"Think about it, Wands. You have no family here. You lost both of our parents here and you even lost me in this universe. I'm just saying, mama and baba would be so happy to see you again. You can finally come home." he persuaded.

"I mean, that's amazing, Pietro but... I think I am home. The Avengers and Nat is family now. For the longest time, I had to deal with my grief in losing you and even losing our parents. But I think I was able to piece myself back together. Do you know how long it took me to do that?" I faltered.

"Well then, just think about it. I am not leaving just yet. Until I have given my all to persuade you to come back home. Oh and also, in our universe, the Avengers does exist and Nat is there too. I'm just saying, maybe there's a chance where you are able to live in a world that both of your families... exist." he pondered before running off.
