Nat's POV:
We hear Secretary Ross' chopper arrive and until now, no decision was made which is not a good start. All of us made our way to the headquarters. My heart feels like it's gonna stop beating soon because I know this won't be good for the Avengers.
"I'm nervous." Yelena croaked as we walked through the hallways.
"I don't think you're the only one." Wanda replied.
"Where's Maria?" Yelena asked.
"Don't expect her to be at the meeting with Ross. She lives in the Avengers compound but she's still technically a SHIELD agent." I replied.
Yelena's eyes were now filled with sadness because she was trying to find a source of strength right now. All of us is feeling the weight of the dilemma.
"Hey, ne volnuysya. Ya zdes. My zdes radi tebya, khorosho?" I assured her as I placed my hand on top of Yelena's shoulder.
"Spasibo." she responded.
I smiled at her then removed my hand and turned to Wanda. I can see her smiling at me as well.
"That was sweet." she commented.
"You speak Russian?" I asked, amazed that she was able to understand what I said.
"Nemnozhko." she replied and my eyes widened.
I leaned closer to her and whispered, "That's hot."
"Ew. I heard that." Yelena said.
"I--, How did-- You know what? Never mind." I said and she formed a smirk in triumphant.
As we entered the headquarters, I could actually feel how heavy the atmosphere is. The room was so silent and no one was speaking to each other. Steve was just continously tapping his foot on the floor anxiously and Stark is playing around with a gadget of some sort as a form of distraction.
Secretory Ross entered the area as well and cleared his throat so he could get everyone's attention.
"Isn't it a wonderful morning?" he started.
I actually want to sucker punch his smug face right now.
"Can you just tell us about what's going on?" Steve demanded.
"Wow. Right into it. Alright." he chuckled, he then signalled one of his assistants for something, the guy approached the table and placed a thick book in front of us. Tony took it and scanned through the book.
"The Sokovia Accords? What the hell is this?" he asked.
"A way to stop the chaos that the Avengers brings to the world." he responded coldly.
"Chaos? So, what we do is called chaos? You're telling me that when we avenged the world against the Chitauri invasion, stopped the infiltration of hydra, battled against Ultron and all the other things we did, those events are somehow our fault?" Tony questioned.
"Ever noticed that the more super people appears, more problems seems to surface?" Ross probed.
"I think his answer to your question is 'yes', Stark." Clint blurted as he let out a sarcastic chuckle.
"That's not what I'm saying." Ross said.
"You sure? 'Cause it kinda is." Tony replied.
"Anyway, read through it, a meeting with the U.N. and all of you will be held in Washington next week for the acceptance of the Sokovia Accords." he instructed and made his way to the exit.
"And if we don't show up?" Steve asked.
"Then that means you do not accept the accords and that automatically means that you retire as an Avenger." he responded then left.
