I was moving things around my new home to make everything look exactly the way I wanted it. Decorating is one of the things I love to do even if it can get a little tiring after a while. But I knew I'd eventually get everything how I wanted it. I was in the middle of taking a break when someone rang the doorbell. 'Who could that be?' I wondered curiously. I didn't know anyone who lived in New York, so I genuinely confused. I got up from the couch and walked towards the door. Through the window I vaguely noticed that a man was standing on the doorstep. It made me a little nervous but I opened the door slightly to see what he wanted. When I did so, I was kind of surprised at how handsome he looked. He had dark hair that was in a side part and it slicked back slightly just so it was out of his face. A soft looking beard accentuated his features. He was wearing a black suit as well. But what caught my attention the most was his his big brown eyes. They looked so deep and mysterious, yet somehow comforting and friendly. "Hello, how can I help you?" I said shyly.

"Hello, my name is Dr. Laszlo Kreizler and I'm your neighbor." He said with a small smile. "Oh, it's nice to meet you Dr. Kreizler. I'm y/n l/n." I said with a smile of my own. "Nice to meet you as well Miss l/n. I just wanted to welcome you to the city. I surmised that you're from out of town by the moving company you used." He said, and my smile grew. "Yes, I am from out of town. I appreciate the warm welcome. Perhaps you could show me around, only if you want to of course. I know you're most likely a busy man due to you being a doctor." I said somewhat awkwardly. He said he would enjoy showing me around New York. He also invited me to dinner at his place tonight, an offer I didn't turn down. I was actually looking forward to getting to know my neighbors. Plus I needed to make some friends so I didn't feel alone. So we said goodbye to each other and I went back to decorating, hoping I didn't lose track of time. I didn't want to be late to dinner, because it would leave a bad first impression. So after a while I decided to take a bath so I wasn't sweaty when I went to Dr. Kreizler's place. Once I was finished I dried off and put on one of my favorite dresses.

When I checked the time I decided to go ahead and walk next door. I rang the doorbell and after a few minutes passed the door opened. A Tall dark skinned man was standing in front of me. He was wearing a brown colored suit. "Hello, I'm y/n l/n. Dr. Kreizler invited me for dinner." I said shyly. I was nervous about meeting them even though I was excited as well. "Oh, hello Miss l/n. Come in. I'm Cyrus Montrose, but you may call me Cyrus." He said in a deep baritone voice that was comforting and pleasant to listen to. "It's nice to meet you Cyrus. You may call me y/n." I replied with a smile. He lead me into the sitting room where the doctor was seated. The house was quite beautiful. My eyes wandered around at the lovely furniture, paintings, vases, and a grand piano. "Good evening, Miss l/n. Would you like a drink?" Dr. Kreizler asked as he stood up and gestured to a teapot. There was a small smile on his handsome face. "Of course, thank." I said with a small smile of my own. He poured us both a cup of tea, which I thanked him for. We sat down in the sitting room and drank tea as we talked. Eventually a young man named Stevie Taggert joined us as well as Cyrus for dinner. We sat down at the table and filled our plates with food. The food they made was delicious, which I complemented them on.

I learned that Dr. Kreizler is actually an Alienist with his own institute for children. I thought it was very kind and big hearted of him to have an Institute where he takes in children and cares for them. He was practically running an orphanage, but not all of the kids were orphans. Plus he took the time to actually help them with their mental as well as emotional health. All three of them seemed like wonderfully people. I could see myself spending a lot of time with them, and I wondered if they had other friends I could meet and befriend as well. 'Of course they have other friends. How can people like them not have friends?' I thought inside of my head as I enjoyed myself. I looked forward to spending more time with them. I just hoped that they liked me back.
