I was looking through the rubble of a destroyed building. It was still so surreal to see Sakovia practically obliterated. I wasn't necessarily looking for anything. Most of the survivers had already been rescued. I just needed something to do to occupy my mind. I didn't want to think of all the friends I has lost. All of the family members... As I kept looking, I something caught my eye.

I grabbed what felt like a strange rubbery, yet cloth like texture. As I dusted it off and held it up I noticed that it was a mask. A purple mask. 'Where did this come from?' I wondered if it had belonged to a Halloween costume or something. Instead of tossing it aside, ended up keeping it. I took it all the way back to my new apartment. On my way home I picked up some Chinese take out. Once I got home, I sat on the couch and tuned on the tv.

I ate my food as I watched the news, then I turned the channel. A few minutes passed when there was a knock on the door. 'Who could that be?' I said inside if my head. I sat my food on the coffee table before walking over to the door. When I looked out of the peep hole I saw a man I didn't recognize. He was wearing a gray sweater and a pair of blue jeans. "Who is it?" I asked curiously. "I believe you have something that belongs to me." He said in a deep voice that I wasn't expecting to hear.

"What might that be?" I asked with furrowed brows. 'Is this guy high or drink?' I wondered. "A purple mask." He replied, and I was shocked. It was clear that he had been watching me when I found it. "Oh." I said as I went and got the mask off of the coffee table. Then I opened the door to see him once more. He looked quite handsome even though he looked very tired and worn. "Here you go. I'm sorry that I took it, but I didn't know it was yours." I said and he took the mask from me.

"It's okay, you couldn't have known that it was mine. Thank you by the way." He said, indicating the mask. I offered him something to eat and drink, but he declined my offer. He thanked me once more before leaving. He never gave his name of anything, not that it was necessary. But I wondered what a man like him was doing with a purple mask like that. I pressed my thoughts to the back of my mind and turned back to my food. I kept thinking about the man I just met and I wondered if we would ever meet again.
