                Chapter 52: Middle of Night

The night seemed peaceful. Well at least until' I had the pacific nightmare that just popped right in my head. I had remembered I was running in the woods through a wildfire and flames were everywhere. It was dark. And I remember finding a place close to a tent at a camp sight and I saw Emma there. She looked as beautiful even in my dreams. And when I got to her I saw her reach for me begging me to help her, and that's when I saw the blood coming from the side of her abdomen and I saw her just leap for my arms and I caught her. Holding her closely. I saw Noah there, he was holding a gun and I knew he killed her.

I knew I was definitely dreaming. That this isn't real. I had cried myself in the dream. And when I looked at Noah, he had soulless eyes staring at us. And I remember crying and screaming at him. And I never could actually lose Emma in a way that I could like this. And in my head I kept seeing every memory I have of Emma. There was just too many memories and they were stuck in my head and I felt stuck in countless flashes of the memories with her.

I had woke up gasping with my eyes opening. I remember having to sit up to breathe. I had just relaxed, and I knew I only had a few nerves going on in my whole body. Marshmallow was fast asleep on my bed still. I looked seeing the empty sleeping blanket. I assume Noah came in when I fell asleep. But I'm not sure where he is now. I take a look at my phone that sat on the nightstand that read 2:44am.

I had gotten up and I had just wanted to find out where he went off to. But no, I actually don't. So instead, I decided to go down and get a glass of water. I had made my way towards my door and I closed it once I was out in the hall. I saw Emma's door was closed and no sounds. I assume Emma and Mandy were fast asleep. And I wondered if they've talked yet. And I had just looked at the stupid hallway and I saw mom and Edward's door was closed. I had heard the Grandfather clock ticking softly. I had gone down the stairs to head down into the kitchen very quietly hoping no one will hear me. I had come to my senses of noticing Noah is in the kitchen when I heard his voice. It sounded like he was talking to someone. It was dark through the whole house.

I guess Noah wanted to take a personal call. But I just couldn't even believe what I was hearing. How personal can a call be like this at two in the morning? I tried my best to not make any noise. I stayed quiet as possible. And I had just creeped down slowly if the stairs. I had gone right down to where I thought it was safe because I didn't want Noah to hear me.

But then I dropped down to sit on the bottom of the stairs so I can hear what he is saying to this person he's taking a call with. Because I don't trust Noah. And something about him isn't right. Especially now at two in the morning. So I decided to eavesdrop.

"Kate, you need to understand that I can't see you anymore." I heard Noah say to the person on the other end, and it had me wondering. Who the fuck is Kate?

I had so much thoughts running through my head. I was beyond terrified of who this Kate person is. And who is she that he needs to be talking to her on the phone in the kitchen at two in the morning?

"Yes, I know. But we only slept together a couple of times. It doesn't mean you and me are dating or that we're back together." He said, and then it clicked to me who Kate is.

Kate Paulista.

I remember Noah telling me about Kate. She was his ex fiancée. And also, Ty knows everything about the Scott's family. That their basically like royalty. And how rich they are. And he knew that he was engaged for a few years to a woman Kate Paulista. She's basically pretty and very rich herself. She cheated on Noah with his roommate and got pregnant. She had been cheating on Noah for months. And now it's clicking right back to who he is talking to.
